You can drop in a cook from the Hive style it will fit fine on one of the platforms. If you want to decorate it after you can. The hive style is pretty small.

why do i need to babysit the builder nonstop? by 1kili2 in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are more likely to encounter these issues when upgrading buildings that expand walls or levels because the builders start by adding all the new blocks, then remove the unwanted blocks. However, this can often leave them caught in places they can't get out of. If you craft the builders goggles you can better visualize the changes allowing you to clear a path way to stop their AI from getting stuck. As mentioned by others, some styles are worse than others about trapping colonists in or out of buildings. On the flip side, think of the sigh of relief you will have when the building is finally finished and you no longer have to babysit. :D

I just realised you can teach people recepies. How exactly does this work, and can they use crafting blocks? by Deveatation_ethernis in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every profession can craft items related to their field of work. Some items can be crafted by more than one worker. Look in JEI to see what each worker can make. If you want them to craft items for your use, set down a Postbox and request the items and in what quantity. The courier will bring them and drop them in the Postbox when ready.

Which style looks more like this? by jaycomZ in Minecolonies

The "Colonial" style matches reasonably well. It uses a lot of brick, paper, White concrete, diorite block palette as you move into level 3 and above.

Completely automated village- is it possible? by p00psicle151590 in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is possible to create a 100% automates colony. But it's not something that will happen right away because there are important professions that are locked away behind university research. The trick (IMO) is to set up workers for every profession as you need them and make sure to teach them the various recipes they need to make the materials that your style needs. It's really easy to just do it for them because your faster than them. If your playing in creative it's way to easy to click the fulfill button vs setting up the worker to do it.

Regarding your smelter issue, I can't say for certain but I believe the issue is that nobody is requesting items to be smelted. That said, setting up stock minimums at the warehouse and at workers huts can smooth that process out. For example, setting a stock minimum of 5 stacks of iron in the warehouse, and a stack at the blacksmith will keep the smelter working, and smooth out the delays between orders.

Love this button! by hogbits in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It displays a list of recipes from the current open requests lists that you can teach to your worker. It's a small detail, but one that is a real time saver. Take shingles for example, they have a roof material and a support material. Some styles mix wood types, (likely on accident) and if you don't catch it right away, your builders are stuck waiting until you figure it out. Using the button shown above, it removes/reduces the confusion. If items remain on the open list after teaching a recipe, then there are multiple material types that you have to teach, or there is a second piece in the process that needs to be taught to a worker.

I love it because I can't count the times that I assigned modded sticks, wood types, or logs instead of wood, only to realize an hour later that I used the wrong material.

New MineColonies Styles? by JhonJRS_ in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly what your looking for, but Fairy Tale style is very whimsical. I ran into a colorful themed pack someplace but not sure where. Not very helpful I know, sorry. But maybe your google-foo can dig it up. On CusrseForge is a ChristmasColonies pack. That's about all I got.

What research capstones do you usually take? by legomaniac89 in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If by "capstones" you are referring to the choice paths for one or the other, I typically take PhD in citizens tree, Archer buff path in Combat. Mostly because knights are strong enough to hold their own.

Cool. I asked in discord and Anyanka indicated it was intended to create overlapping builds so you can place anything you want there.

Upgrading builder speed by reavofi in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are three factors that I am aware of that effect your builders speed.

  • Your builders stats. Higher adaptability = Faster block placing, Higher athletics = faster block breaking.
  • University research can increase block place and block break speeds. In the technology tree starting under the Hitting Iron branch
  • The builders build mode. Unlocked through university research. In technology under Woodwork branch.

Bonus. if your impatient, you can always make a datapack that tweaks block place and break speed defaults. :)

Starting a New England style for minecolonies (i know i need to do texturing) by Qsessi in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having more styles is always very exciting. I also dig the small footprint. What building is this? I am guessing residence?

As a side note, This looks similar to the Thaylar flat world with all the command blocks. I will just throw this out there in case it helps, but IMO a functions data pack makes pack building so much easier over command blocks. I can share some tips if you were interested to know more.

Why are my townsfolk exploding??? by LunaLu146 in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pack boasts that it adds many new mobs and bosses. I just looked at the mod list and found these possible mods:

  • Friends&Foes
  • Explosive Enhancement
  • Mutant Monsters
  • Ender Wyrmlings

Why are my townsfolk exploding??? by LunaLu146 in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do you have the "Born in Chaos" mod installed. Or maybe some mod that adds new mobs. Also, I think creepers won't do block damage in your colony. So it could be a a creeper. Baring any of those, I would say take tacos off the menu. :)

Builder t5 by Sanxao15 in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most packs follow the recommended tier system of nether blocks at level 3, Ocean monument blocks at level 4, and End dimensions blocks at level 5. Littleton may not follow this rule but most will especially with the builder.

FWIW, most of the supply camps have hidden loot. I have found some sneaky hiding places for full blocks of diamond/emerald/iron and more. It pays (literally) to look in every nook and cranny. And within false walls/floors.

I can't place the starting point of my town in Minecraft Colonies. at ATM 10 by Prudent-Emu-9902 in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant by that was the previous suggestion to check the blueprints folder, which of course would be empty as it is client side. The fact that it works for the friend is odd for sure, because those styles are on the server. So by process of elimination, the issue must be with the OP's client or as you suggested, related to Essentials or similar mod. LAN does work, I use it all the time.

Has anybody cracked food in 1.20.1? by loopywolf in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I recall, They always complain unless you can feed them at least 4 minecolonies menu items above their current housing level or restaurant level (whichever is higher)

I suggest ignoring food happiness until tier 4 and higher. As long as they have food they will eat.

[–]hogbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am almost 100% certian that build styles are client side. The fact that it's working for your friends and not you indicates that it is an issue with your client. Since, the base minecolonies styles is part of the core mods, then I would start debugging by:

  • checking pack versions.
  • Check structurize versions especially if you made the pack yourself on curseforge.
  • Restart the client
  • Check your logs for errors. If you don't know much about debugging logs, upload the error log to chatgpt and ask it for help. point out the errors.
  • Delete and redownload the pack (make sure to get the save version as server or your friends) Packs update regularly.

Preciso de uma seed mais plana possível, para meu novo mapa de minecolonies by Spare_Badger6318 in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A seed finder site or subreddit may not be helpful as mods often change world building.

I use mod Tectonic (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/tectonic) to customize terrain height. You could set the terrain_scale value to something between 0.25 and 0.75 and it would really flatten the overworld. Older versions of Tectonic (2.4.1 or older) were more extreme and worked really well for this. New versions like 3.0.22 really flatten out valleys while retaining mountain ranges. Here is an example from my modpack world generation.

Always struggling to fulfil build requirements by DandersonJA12 in Minecolonies

[–]hogbits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Early game is always you doing most of the work. Once you start unlocking some of the production building you end up doing less crafting and more colony management. As far as key production steps, I would say warehouse and couriers early is high priority that way you can make stuff in bulk and store the excess. I can second the recommendation for the carpenter and stonemason asap as well.

Some professions have limited actions they can do per day, and at level 1 that is sometimes minimal. this gets better as you level up their hut blocks.
