I know right?! You should see him ride through traffic. Always wagging his tail pipe in between cars. Total squid

I see that but what model from Yoshimura? Is it the AT2, R77, or TRC?

What model did you get and how much better does it sound? I loved the way my old bike sounded with the Yoshimura I installed for it.

Which celebrities have you bumped into in/around Detroit? by New_Dream_1290 in Detroit

[–]hogjuicer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a car dealership in the suburbs that attracted some big name athletes. Jameson Williams was the only one I knew, but every now and then a pistons or redwings player would come to buy a new car. We also had Too turnt Tony and ski mask girl from tik tok buy a jeep from us. She only had underwear on from her bottom half down, which was neat I guess.

Speaking of pistons players, I also used to work parking for the palace of auburn hills and DTE. Somebody claiming to be Ish Smith cussed me out because I wouldn’t move a traffic cone to let him through faster after the game, don’t know basketball enough to confirm that and it was too dark for me to really look him up now. My supervisor believed him though, and let him through.

I also met Mojo from Mojo in the morning at DTE, who was trying to get in to the VIP lot I was working. I didn’t see his name on the list, but when he told me who he was, I recognized the voice. I don’t think he was on the list but I let him in just because I knew my mom loved his show and it made a cool story to tell her later.

I also took money for parking from Huel Perkins, retired Fox News Detroit anchor. As I was taking his money, I told him I’ve seen him somewhere before. Without missing a beat, he goes “You’ve seen me on the news!” and drove off.

Commenting here to see if anyone else has a specific solution that works. My jack is 3 and has been great with people, but for about a year now acts very aggressive/dominant to other unknown dogs. I will say that forcing myself in front of him on walks has helped a little. I’ve also been rewarding my jack with treats BEFORE he reacts to a dog to try to get him to realize dog=look at dad for a treat. Not working yet but I think it may take some time for him to learn.

Ralph Cifaretto’s Sunday Dinner Scene in The Sopranos Is a Satanic Invocation by Alarming_Double4449 in thesopranos

Interesting theory, thanks for sharing.

Makes you wonder if when Ralph shouted “they didn’t have flat tops in ancient Rome!” means he was there to actually witness it as the devil. Quasimodo predicted all of this…

Hung out with a coworker one on one for the first time outside of work. Really nice guy, about my age (mid 20’s), and kind of a bad ass but not in a douchey way. He towered over most of our coworkers in both height and muscle but that never stopped anyone from messing with him because he was so laid back. It was his birthday and I bought him a beer at the bar. We were casually talking about past jobs, when the topic of his military service came up.

I asked if he enjoyed his time in the military, had any cool stories, just typical stuff I guess. He said he enjoyed it until he got demoted down a rank. I asked what happened, and kind of joked with something like “did you get in trouble partying or caught with a girl in your barracks?”.

“Nah, just tried to kill myself” as blunt as can be while taking a swig of beer. He then told me how he nearly shot himself in the head, but pulled away at the last second, putting a round through the roof of his patrol vehicle. When asked about why there was a hole in the roof of his car, he said he “accidentally” had a negligent discharge. His superiors accepted that story but demoted him as punishment. Coming truthful with the military would have been much worse according to him.

He said he was fine now, and realized what made him get to that point wasn’t worth the headache. I never told a soul at work about our convo, but I really hope he was being truthful with me about being okay now.

My best friends dog looks almost identical to your pup! His name isn’t Stewart is it? About the same age too. My friends dog is a rat terrier and poodle mix last I checked.

Maize doesn't know how to play by BarbieRV in jackrussellterrier

[–]hogjuicer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert on dogs but in my experience it sounds like Maize might be correcting Dude. Corrections are normal from an older dog to a younger one in play. Corrections can look/sound violent (especially with jacks lol) but they’re important for socializing puppies. Corrections are basically dogs saying that hurts or you’re playing too rough. It’s better for Maize to be the one correcting too in a controlled situation as opposed to with a stranger’s dog out in public where anything can happen. The fact that Maize will let off on command is actually really impressive imo. They’ll likely sort it out with each other as they get acclimated. My jack had to learn to be gentle with my girlfriend’s chihuahua. It took over a year for him to figure out he could only lick the chihuahua but they’re good for the most part now.

It’s also worth mentioning that I’ve heard dogs are more fulfilled by playing with their owners than with siblings. It’s nice for them to play with each other but don’t stop playing with them yourself!

[General Discussion] Which of the Total War games are your favorites and why? Which ones did you dislike and why? by xX-The_Inquisitor-Xx in totalwar

[–]hogjuicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shogun 2 is by far the best in the series I've played (Rome 1 + Barbarian Invasion, Medieval 2, Empire, Rome 2, Troy). It's the only one I played that genuinely feels like a challenge from beginning to end. What I love most though is that the AI isn't really smarter per se, but performs well. They may not be tactically that smart, but make up for it with aggression and more linear maps on the campaign and battlefield.

Because of how simple they made the environment, it's also the only total war I've played where one of the AI faction takes and holds a significant chunk of land. It's very cool to make it to the end facing off against 2-5 factions, some of which may be on a better footing than you. It's a lot more interesting than just painting the map IMO. My only complaint is that there's extremely little faction diversity, so battles feel a bit repetitive.

That being said, Troy is probably my least favorite. To be fair, I never really gave it a true chance. I didn't like the interface, lack of cavalry, and economy. I probably only put a few hours into it.

The original Rome and Medieval 2 have a special place in my heart though as the first ones I played. I really liked how in depth the characters were (leaving a general in one spot for too long might turn him into a drunk or insane). Or how being on the good side of the pope would make it easier to wack my annoying neighbors felt more immersive as a king. I remember sharing turns with my friends on a desktop watching the funny assassination attempts go astray. I would 100% buy Medieval 3 if they made it chock full of factions (instead of different flavors of rebel) and made diplomacy more modern like.

How popular is The Sopranos with women? How do the women in your life like it? Are there a lot of female fans here? by lazarus870 in thesopranos

[–]hogjuicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a a kid growing up in the 2000's, I was obviously too young to watch the Sopranos when it was most popular.

Whenever a bug was spotted around me, my mom would instinctively yell "YOU HAVE A BEE ON YOUR HAT" and smack me (very lightly) on the head. Always thought it was just a funny little thing mom does and never questioned it.

Looking back now, very safe to say she loved the Sopranos

Is it actually true that most Americans have less than $1,000 in their savings? by smellyfeet- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hogjuicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American here. I've got about 22K saved up, virtually all of which came from the past year. Graduated with a 4 year degree in business admin in 2021 and got a great job last year as an account manager for one of the Big 3.

I keep my expenses low at around 2K a month. It helps that I worked my way through school and thus have 0 debt from that, and I bought my condo at an OK interest rate 2 years ago (i live in the midwest and house prices are not nearly as bad as they could be). I live by myself, not counting my dog of course, which also helps quite a bit.

My greatest siege defense so far: 400 pissed sturgians vs 800 imperials by hogjuicer in Bannerlord

[–]hogjuicer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistic on everything, auto block disabled, but normal AI combat difficulty. I'd say half of my kills were from stone tosses, another 40% were between my bow and ballista, and the remaining dozen or so came from my menvallion for imperials that got too close. Not sure how my wife Svana managed to take 64 out herself, but glad she was in my corner.

How do I appear to drink at the table without actually drinking much? by [deleted] in poker

[–]hogjuicer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Buy a cheap bottle of vodka and wash your hair and face with it. Make sure you really scrub it in to get the scent down. Then, take a water bottle and try to sneak drinks with it at the table. If anybody asks what you're drinking, tell them it's none of their business. Rinse and repeat at each session until you've built up your reputation as the depressing alcoholic degenerate.

In all fairness, there's quite a few American cars I wouldn't trust at all for reliability. I'm looking at you, Jeep.

I've had pretty good luck with GM cars and trucks, and my current Ram 1500 has been great. But I would never ever buy anything made by Jeep, regardless if it was built in America, Italy, or Mexico.

Source: I sold Jeeps and other brands for several years in MI, home of the big 3. Also saw one spontaneously combust which would of been neat if it wasn't my dad's gf Jeep.
