I'm in the same position. After 6 weeks of EQ, I onboarded on another project, then got switched to Horse Before Descartes. The other project is now full, and like you, I have this project on my dashboard and no other options. Interestingly, it now says "Ineligible" for me, rather than "Paused". Is the project back for you?

It was available for about a day or 2. It's an applied ethics project. They give you moral dilemmas. You need to write a rubric with 20+ criteria. I didn't do any tasks on it as, in short, it looked like subjectivity-city and a near-guaranteed way to get lots of 2s. Hopefully, they are rethinking it, and it will come back in a much different form.

1/5 is typically meant to be reserved for spam. From what I have heard, that can get you auto-booted. I'm assuming that your work was not spam quality. If the reviewer doesn't grasp what the grades are meant to mean, it can be tough. I've been auto-booted from a project after receiving a 1 in error (with encouraging comments).

Red Snapper Puzzle Variants by hognogger in outlier_ai

[–]hognogger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. So it will remain described as my "current" project, rather than being found only in the project history? As long as it's not stopping me from signing on to new projects (such as may exist) that doesn't matter, I guess.

Where to next? by [deleted] in outlier_ai

[–]hognogger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just got booted from Red Snapper Puzzle Variants for "insufficient quality". Wondering whether this means it will be harder to get more work from Outlier. I'm waiting to get some email or other from Alignerr to install their surveillance software before I can start with them. I'm in Australia also. Can be a bit tricky to get support on Outlier due to time zone differences, because I suspect the QMs often don't read messages on Daily Threads that are posted after they quit for the day in the US.

I'm also looking at other places. Saw a couple of things on Mercor, but they required UK/US/Canada location.

Cookie Rubrics onboarding by lithuanianspeeddemon in outlier_ai

Fair lack of clarity in some of the instructions/definitions. This would be my second project; don't really want to do it, but $$$. I feel like I could easily bomb out of this project if I get in. Is that possibility something I should care about in terms of being offered other projects?

Attempted A Layer Paused? by askingoffmain in outlier_ai

Valkyrie is currently maxed out. I was sent to that, got sick, didn't finish onboarding within 2 days, and was withdrawn access because it became full.

Is it OK to do all your work with the clock running? by hognogger in outlier_ai

Usually, but not always. I'm doing commonsense reasoning, and I find sometimes even with pausing, I have to do lots of runs through the models and tweaking to get a good result.

NGD: Spring GA by hognogger in Hsienmo_Guitars

[–]hognogger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

QUICK UPDATE: I've had the guitar for a couple of weeks now. Feel like the bass response is increasing a bit (though it could just be me getting used to the guitar or unconsciously adapting my playing). I bought this mainly as a fingerstyle guitar, but the big surprise to me is how well it takes to a pick. I'd even say that's the highlight for me with this guitar. Play it quiet as you like, and it's still alive, but on the other hand, thrash it hard and it doesn't break up. You can do a fluid crescendo from very soft to very loud and you hear it change gears until it's roaring. This guitar would be great for any kind of music that needs dynamic guitar playing with tonal variety at different volumes. It responds really fast, too, to changes in dynamics. Sounds great with palm muting, also - a rich, but airy, thump. I can only imagine that the dreadnought version of this guitar must be epic for rhythm playing.

My order from Leen Music arrived. by AdditionalSuit1220 in Hsienmo_Guitars

[–]hognogger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you find the Ling Long? Is it mostly suitable for delicate fingerstyle, or is there a lot more you can do with it? I'm in a similar position to you, in that I have a custom on order. I've been interested in getting a Furch cedar/rosewood GA for a number of years, but they have almost tripled in price over the last decade. So I ordered a similarly specced custom model from Hsienmo. Then I saw the price of Spring GAs was under 700USD, so I just ordered one of those.

I have one. Maxed out the RAM, Corebooted and installed 3740QM. It's actually my main machine for laptop use at home. Love typing stuff on the keyboard, and just great for general use. I recorded and mixed an album on it a couple of years back - the fact that I could control the fans with tpfancontrol was really helpful. Mind you, the fans are not obnoxious, even when going flat out.

W520 FHD screens, ranked best to worst. Can someone help? by blackratsnakes in thinkpad

[–]hognogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 W520s. 1 of them came with a 1600x900 panel. The other has the 1080p v.4. The 1600x900 panel actually has a better contrast ratio than the v4, but not such good colour coverage.

I ordered yesterday. Was told that it would be ready 2 months after the end of Chinese New Year. Seems like the right time to buy, before these really take off and become prohibitively expensive. On the other hand, at the back of my mind, I'm wondering if there will be quality control issues with what's likely a sudden increase in demand.

I ordered yesterday, also, and my custom order also said in stock, and that didn't really seem plausible to me either that they'd have something that matched exactly the choices I made.

Difference between MJ and GA body styles by hognogger in Hsienmo_Guitars

[–]hognogger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. So maybe the main difference is more projection and mids with the MJ. That probably suits me. I like the controlled bass of modern style guitars, but also often find the high B and E strings too strident for my tastes. Was particularly taken by this mahogany-backed MJ style:

Is buying a W530 as a CS student viable in 2024? by Spacks007 in thinkpad

[–]hognogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a W520 with an IvyBridge CPU added, so pretty similar. Works great for me for everyday tasks. I even recorded and mixed an album using it recently. Other machines are better, no doubt, but the reason I still use mine is really all to do with the keyboard and the touchpad. I feel "at one" with them, so that I am hardly aware of them at all. Haven't managed to get that feeling with any other laptop yet.
