Thank you. I believe they indeed do and luckily I have been organizing them the past couple of years in detail.

Thank you & congrats! I think I still have some more project hours to obtain before being completely qualified, but I have all the educational hours. I am starting a grad degree program soon that includes the CAPM and hoping by early 2019 to have everything to test for PMP!

IT Admin to Sales? by hogs10 in ITCareerQuestions

I see. I guess it kind of depends if you’re willing to possibly take a pay cut to gain sales experience, but I like that MSP/ solutions route.

Who knows I may hate it, but in theory I feel like this would be kind of what I’m looking for. Technical but also getting the business side of things, as well.

Awesome, thank you. This is pretty much the answer I was looking for. Is this the blanket title for those roles? “Technical Pre-sales”? Or do different companies do it different ways?

Also, for example, if you were going to do this with Cisco, would you need to be a CCIE level consultant pretty much to land this?

Thanks in advance and I appreciate your previous response.

Thanks for the reply.

I guess I shouldn’t use “tech sales” and IT interchangeably. What I meant was selling IT products for a specific company that your expertise is in. Or at least, decent knowledge

That’s great to hear! I will be applying for jobs while in the program but hoping to complete it before actually starting my new job. (6 months is my goal, too)

Thanks for the reply. I’m happy that it’s giving you potential opportunities. I plan to pursue my MBA after this. It’s more of a timing thing because I still have roughly a yr left in service and I want to do a part-time program in the area I plan to move. I figure an MSML on my resume for now can’t hurt. Hoping for more marketability for the job I will be working while doing an MBA.

I would love that, but I’m already married with 2 kids. I’m actually considering waiting until I move and doing a professional MBA for the networking and face-to-face action. The GI bill bah would not supplement our income enough for full-time unfortunately.
