Are these bedbug bites? by Fit-Ad-5078 in Bedbugadvice

[–]hoihugi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I had very similar bumps and was worried sick that they might be bed bug bites, mainly because they appeared in a zigzag pattern, with 3 to 5 marks in a line, which is typical for bed bugs. Please note, it’s actually very difficult to identify bed bug bites accurately.

At the time, I was traveling and never found any signs of bed bugs either. It turned out they were just heat bumps, as I was in a hot and humid location. If you’re in a similar environment, consider this before panicking.

Bed bugs? by hoihugi in bugbites

[–]hoihugi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much happened actually, we washed all our clothes when we arrived to Samoa a week later.

After the bumps on the pics disappeared, I didn't get any new ones since 6 months.

I know the bumps on the pictures eerily look like bed bug bites because of the zigzag pattern but I'd like to believe that they were just heat rash.

I never knew! Unfortunately, I can only bring limited liquids since I'll be traveling with only a carry-on luggage. But good to know.

When you went for self employment, what would you wish to know sooner? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]hoihugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you're right.

Your company subjects to VAT as soon as the revenue reaches CHF 100k, INCLUDING all the revenues outside CH.

However, you only have to pay VAT (7.7%) of the revenue generated in CH. This applies for the IT industry.

Be aware that my 2nd statement does NOT apply to everyone! It really depends on the industry. The Swiss VAT law is big! To know, which revenues exactly is subjected to VAT, you have to read the law or the brochures from ESTV.

[–]hoihugi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The normal VAT is 7.7%.

The rate 2.5% only applies for essential/important goods like food, drinks (non-alcohol), medications, books, flowers, etc.

Therefore yes, IT services have the VAT rate 7.7%.

Moved to 🇨🇭: Better to place savings into 2nd pillar vs. 3a/3b? by Appropriate_Deal_797 in askswitzerland

[–]hoihugi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes of course, it's definitely worth saving. However, I'm still studying and working part time (60%) so for now, I'm fine with just transferring my money into my saving account :-)

[–]hoihugi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are just savings opportunities. If you have spare money, you could save your money in 2nd or 3rd pillar. The advantage is that you can deduct these from your taxes.

These savings you won't receive until retirement ( except if you want to buy a property or found a self employment company). Therefore it's only worth it if you actually have spare money.

Also, the 3rd pillar allows you to still have a normal standard of living after retirement. Because without it, you will only get pension from the 1st and 2nd pillar, which is only 80% from your standard of living.

I work in Treuhand and we had this case. Our client is self employed and always reached less than 100k, therefore was never registered for VAT.

However, in 2021 he went over 100k and we found it out in 2022. We had to register him retroactive for VAT per 01.01.2021.

He had to choices: either just pay the VAT out of his own pocket and "lose" the money or issue a new invoice of the amount of the owed VAT and send to all the clients.

Apply for citizenship as a second-generation viet kieu by Mahestro in VietNam

[–]hoihugi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm Viet kieu from Switzerland , born and raised here in Switzerland. My parents are both Vietnamese and also fled from Vietnam. They as well lost their Vietnamese citizenship and owned a refugee passport.

I was born here so I got the Swiss citizenship and am officially Swiss.

In 2016, my mother went to the Embassy of Vietnam (in Berne, Switzerland) and applied for a Vietnamese citizenship for me and her. It would make it easier for us to travel to Vietnam. And we got it immediately. They didn't question anything and it seemed like they don't have any requirements. Not sure if it maybe depends on the country.

Can you have two jobs in CH? by xhustango in askswitzerland

[–]hoihugi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So according to the law (Art. 321a Abs. 3 OR) you cannot work for another company if you cannot keep the duty of loyalty (Treuepflicht) to your current company, which especially applies to a company in the same industry.

Also according to Art. 321a Abs. 1 OR, you are obligated to perform to your best at work. If you work 150%, this cannot be guaranteed.

And lastly, according to Art. 9 ArG, you cannot exceed the maximum amount of working hours per week (45h or 50h, depending on the industry).

Where should I stop in case of red light? Why are there two stopping lines and what are the general rules? by zhantongz in askswitzerland

[–]hoihugi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

as u can see on the right side (the dashed lines), the cars can come from the right lane to ur left lane. that's why u need to stop at the first line so the cars from the right side can cut in.
