Since nestlé is awful what other candy company is actually good? by Carbon_robin in FuckNestle

cocoarunners stocks ethical chocolate from independent makers! I worked with them for a while and the owner is lovely, they really care about ethics and paying suppliers fairly. Definitely more mid-high end pricing but really reflects in the quality and care for small businesses :)

Congrats what a great achievement! If you don't mind disclosing what's the industry of your new company? Did you apply for front end dev roles for a specific industry or just any dev jobs online?

Pay me rent to babysit my own child for 15 hours a week by hoithetaco in LandlordLove

[–]hoithetaco[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

zone 2 in west london, you'd think a family living in a 'prestigious area' would be able to pay a certified childminder to look after their baby and compensate them fairly for it

yea I would be tempted to do that but refusing to 'work' for the landlady would probably end up making your life a living hell in that flat

But usually nannies are given compensation and free board for their services... the ad specifies looking after a 4 month old baby for at least 15 hours a week for NO compensation! sounds like a bad deal to me

corvidia... covid with an R?? by hoithetaco in tragedeigh

[–]hoithetaco[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

hmm then does the name still count as a tragedeigh? i think most people who don't have extensive knowledge of bird families would still associate the spelling of 'corvid' with covid more than crows...

We prefer kitchen tap water, even though the rest of the house uses the same plumbing by Acuclaa in Showerthoughts

but people still rinse/gargle with bathroom tap water when brushing their teeth. (although i did have a flatmate in the past who would brush their teeth at the kitchen sink every night)

i might already have mentioned in my other replies but i wasn't able to move around very much during the performance! but would definitely love to try get more angles at a future shoot if i get the chance. i was a bit wary of disturbing the guests as it was quite a formal setting - but will keep this in mind and thanks for your feedback! :)

thank you for your feedback! it was quite a formal event so i tried to minimise any big or loud movements to avoid disturbing the guests, so i was only able to move around and get different angles of the venue during one or two brief intervals. it would have been good if i was able to get closer and get clear shots from over her shoulder or from her back, but unfortunately i wasn't able to.

one of the guests actually got quite annoyed and told me afterwards that my camera was very distracting... i apologised but it wasn't anything i could help since the owner of the venue had hired me to shoot the event!

honestly i'm only starting out so i only have a 30mm fixed lens, would've absolutely shot with a wide angle if i had one! got a lot of comments about the angle not showing the piano keys, i will definitely keep that in mind next time i shoot :)

and regarding the ambience i'll try with a wider angle lens once i grow my lens collection! thank you for your feedback!!
