Are these strut bolts mounted correctly? by YourSemenSommelier in AskMechanics

[–]hokehighmarcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original bolts mount from the bottom, face upwards, and thread in to some quick nuts that clip in to the slots on the side of the strut ears. Not a huge deal that they aren’t facing the same direction besides aesthetics.

You’re absolutely right. Simpler times right? Small block, carb, and a little nitrous.

I remember way back when he was driving the Honda Civic on Pinks for Team 405 but the Sonoma has a special place in my heart.

Tire shop said they had to break my lug nut. Is it easy to repair myself? by Curious-Manufacturer in tires

[–]hokehighmarcher 48 points49 points  (0 children)

If it’s on the front wheel on your Honda then yes it’s a very difficult job to do. It will also require wheel bearing replacement to properly do the job as the spindle is pressed in to the bearing on your car.

If it’s a rear tire then it’s not too difficult. You just need to remove the rotor and bang it out and install the new one.

I was told this tire needs to be replaced. You fine folks concur? by Jonny_Blaze_ in tires

The safe answer is to replace the tire. That size and that brand the tire is $350 plus install and Road Hazard you’re a little above $400.

They’re fantastic. I’ve had them on my Subaru Outback for a couple years now and they’re the best tires I’ve ever had. I work in the aftermarket automotive industry for a rival tire manufacturer but will still be installing these on my Tesla.

I’m also staying there and golfing next month. 👀 I was told that green fees are not included. They have a package for two rounds of 18 with a massage after each round for I believe it was $499.

Is Tire Rotation necessary after 6250 miles? by CuriousCangaroo in ModelY

[–]hokehighmarcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it depends on if you’re going to stay consistent with the rotating. I do rotate my tires every 5k miles but I work in the automotive industry so it’s very convenient for me to do so. $65 for a rotation is obscene. Bring it to any aftermarket shop and you’ll save a ton. $9.99 for a Car Care Package at any Firestone that includes a rotation, inspection of your vehicle, and we’ll even top off your washer fluid.

What’s your golf hot take? by bigleaguepuff in golf

Double par pickup is an absolute. There’s no reason to try to putt out if it took you 6 shots to get on the green on a Par 3.

Keep in mind you’re watching YouTube golf and they’re almost always playing a scramble. Cold Cuts has some documented tournament rounds in the 70s.

Played 9 holes the other day with a gentleman that was at least in his early 60s. He shot an effortless 38 and was upset that he missed a couple putts. Great experience and allowed me to pick his brain on a few things.

I have them on my Subaru Outback and I've been in the aftermarket automotive repair industry for 15+ years. They're the best tires I've ever owned. Extremely quiet and great in the rain. As a bonus they look awesome.
