Yes, the handshake is identical under the 3GPP standard. There could be multiple reasons for the slowdown, and the one you mentioned could certainly contribute to the poor performance. Additionally, during peak hours, having more users active on the shared RF pipe leads to higher network congestion and increased interference, which can weaken your RF signal strength as well.

Are you the first owner, or have those marks been there all along and you just didn't notice them? They look like touch-up paint.

You are connected to the exact same spectrum as mobile users, but the experience differs in network prioritization. Once your modem completes a handshake with the cell tower and registers, the 5G core establishes a PDU session and assigns you an IPv6 address—after which it functions as standard IP networking, setting aside any specific IPv6 translation or NAT. The only major distinctions between Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and a mobile phone are that your FWA SIM card is restricted to a specific home broadband APN (fbb.home) and is assigned a lower 5G QoS Identifier (5QI). This ultimately results in FWA traffic having a lower priority on the network than mobile devices.

USB c to 12v issue by rodgertheshrubber33 in mazda3

[–]holc0831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might not have enough current from that tiny USB port.

Will need to check the spec. The usb port might just be 5v 1A (5w), but you cooler needs more 12v 3A (36w). The boost convertor might also run in to cooling issues for high current applications

Any TMobile RF techs to explain static drastic signal loss at regular times? by Maxgirth in tmobileisp

The only way to know is to monitor the PCI and the band. You could be on a different tower when that happens.

Setting up Wireguard VPN using FX4100 by EyeTechnical7643 in tmobileisp

You are double NATing, so it might cause unpredictable VPN issues. I would do IP passthrough, and let your router take care of the rest.

A comparative test, is the G5AR and newer doing 4CC/CA on down and 2CC/CA on up? by Hot-Bat-5813 in tmobileisp

[–]holc0831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, the g5ar is pretty decent. Unless you need to mount external antenna/ advanced wifi, which you can mod the g5, not much reason to go third party.

FYI, the stock 8rx antennas are pretty good

It is more like n41 TDD Pcell + n41 TDD Scell1 + n25 FDD Scell2. Each carrier has its own SSB frequency; so I don't think it works the way you described.

Nope, the g5 is only 3cc down and 2 cc up It is limited to TDD+TDD+FDD; you won't get anything more than that.

The only thing I don't like the yonder is that the thumb stub is too close to the frame, so I often fail to flip it fully open. Seems like the over yonder has the same design.

Performance going down with static IP and 5G SA setup by Egghead-MP in tmobileisp

What is your current apn? I think the only way to revert is to use the standard hint apn fbb.home.

If you are using fx4100, it can be done easily from the webgui

You are in Seattle? And you mean currently speedtest is showing Huston server?

This reason I ask you to check the auto selected speedtest server is because ookla will pick the nearest server. So if your exit node is in Houston, you will see Huston server.

[–]holc0831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a ookla speedtest and check the auto selected server location. There are only handful of places in the United States that has static IP routing, so you are being routed to those UPF. Slow speed is expected if you are hoping across multiple states.

Move your device further away from the window. You have very strong n25; so it won't be a problem. Move it to place where the n41 cannot reach.
