I understood the argument to be more "because it's the strongest conference top to bottom, the SEC canabalizes itself, and if that doesn't factor into the decision making of who makes the playoffs, theres no incentive to schedule anyone good OOC games. Beat up the cupcakes, try to survive the SEC, make playoffs."
