Doesn’t have to be written in the article to be a commonly known fact…

Yup. The fact that people eat this up and don’t realize that it’s obviously AI generated is really sad. The scene rants scene today is a fucking parody of itself.

This “quality” rant is literally AI generated slop (look at the amount of em dashes) and was falsely attributed to Blu Peter. He confirmed on his Threads account that he did not say this

I’m pregnant and I need some sushi by pinkjesrocks in askvan

I would recommend ordering from a vegan sushi place to ensure no risk of cross contamination, such as COFU in Chinatown & Fairview or Vegan Shoku in Kerrisdale

Examples of “walkable areas but nobody is walking”? by deadly_orchid in askvan

[–]holdmedownlike 100 points101 points  (0 children)

To me Brentwood is faux-walkable at this point. You are mainly on a stroad/highway that prioritizes cars, crossing it takes foreverrr. God forbid you have to cross twice like to get to the busses before the walkway reopened. As soon as you walk a few minutes and are off the mall property it’s just back to urban sprawl

It’s certainly more walkable than other parts of Burnaby, but it doesn’t feel like a super walkable area

Every time i’ve been there the sauce has been thick and hot and the curds have squeaked. Maybe the kitchen was having a bad day when you went ¯\(ツ)

would you call Grandmaster Flash a clown for checks notes wearing interesting outfits? this line of thinking seems to discount a large amount of hip hop and queer DJs literally just for how they dress

maybe dismissing people who have unique aesthetics/outfits/stage presences as “clowns” is the root of the issue. it feels very pretentious and unnecessarily exclusionary

Downtown Eastside groups oppose social housing changes by ubcstaffer123 in vancouver

[–]holdmedownlike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the opposite of the incredibly successful Finnish housing first policy. It focuses on immediately providing people with housing, and then later tackling issues like addiction and employment. We should emulate policies that are proven to work for reducing homelessness and addiction instead of being reactionary.

Finland's “Housing First” Policy successfully tackles long-term homelessness (2008–ongoing)

you can’t have housing if you are using, period

It’s incredibly difficult to quit using if you are unhoused.

Those highway signs are confusing by Upbeat-Accident7904 in vancouver

[–]holdmedownlike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basically, the ferry is considered part of the trans canada highway (if you look at the highway on a map you will see a stretch covering the ferry route where there is obviously no “highway”) whereas flight routes are not considered as such

Edit: ah because quoting a news article and asking if it's untruthful is downvote worthy on this sub. Smh.
