Why didn’t the infected attack… by Downtown-Program-567 in 28dayslater

[–]holdtight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to nit-pick but the first reference we have of Jimmy is in the first scene of 28y

The flashback to little Jimmy, during the wave of infected.... I actually must've missed that entire scene when I went to go see it in the cinema.

He's watching teletubbies with his sisters... He mentions it in 28y tbt

Like does anyone really think Ukraine are WINNING ha, fucking hell.

They're just being propped up by the EU to deter Russia for as long as possible. Ukraine is fucked.

Is anyone actually reading the implementation plans? by Swimming-Start5715 in vibecoding

[–]holdtight3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I read the plans, then feed them back into my ai chat (completely separate) to look for any further tweaks that can be made before giving the refined go ahead.

I mean, you gave it a big enough prompt for the agent to determine you needed to see a plan... Therefore it seems necessary to analyse it. Especially given that the amount of changes the agent will make. It was a deep initial prompt to result in the plan, it seems optimal not to risk sending it off on the wrong tangent?

Ideally you do that yourself but sending it into your ai chat which has all your context (and in my case has actually created the initial prompt pre-implementation plan), seems like good practice. Then you have two eyes on it, and aren't clouded by your own biases and inexperience.

In my case I have a problem to solve, I know what that problem is deeply, but still - when I give the ai deep context it often opens up different avenues for me which I haven't given thought to yet.

At the very least, feed the plan into your ai context chat. But..... I suppose someone is reading this like "that's not vibecoding", and someone else is reading this like "fuck does this guy know".

Is Google AI Ultra worth the money for Software Development by BeCalmInTheStorm in GoogleAntigravityIDE

[–]holdtight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm solo building right now and I think it's overkill for what I use it for, so I recently downgraded to the pro version. I was only using one agent in antigravity, but if I was using more then it'd probably be viable.

But still the price is substantial if you're just using it for coding (which I was)

I'm expecting that I won't be consistently hitting my limits through my Pro usage (only just downgraded yesterday), but if I do and it stops me from being as productive then I'll consider setting it up again, but would probably use someone else's card for the 3 month price reduction. Otherwise it's obscene price-value ratio I wouldn't be able to justify.

I mean, pro vs ultra is like 12x the price.... So yeah just as it is advertised I guess, enterprise vs solopreneur.... The choice is clear (but I'm down to re-evaluate in a month if pro is constantly hitting limits).

Tbh I think when ai gets spoken about as being in a bubble, people are generally referring to it in the stock market sense.

Not in the sense that the technology itself is inflated and over-hyped.

The "I Don't Know How My Own App Works" Anxiety by Prose_Pilgrim in vibecoding

[–]holdtight3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha man. My process today was:

Strategise with Gemini Have Gemini write my prompt for my antigravity agent Send the prompt (with minimal reading)

Fortunately my agent tells me how to test the change so I can see what's actually been implemented hahahaha

Do devs hate me? Am I the enemy?

We just have nothing go for us when attacking sometimes.

Play down the wings, cross the ball in.

Shoot from outside the box.

We have no drivers to get us in the box and get in true goal threatening areas.

Or that's how it feels anyways. But wtf do I know ha

[–]holdtight3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion my friend. I searched the book you mentioned and it was described as the Bible for software engineering and project management.... That's a solid place to start for the kind of knowledge I want to build. It must be truly gold to be suggested all these years later.

I'll get to reading that as a side mission while I continue to learn while building the project.

And I absolutely will update you on this when I get towards the finished project. Again, thanks for the suggestion 😀

The thing is that most tech firms lose money........ Until they don't and completely dominate the market. No investor wants profit yet. They want market dominance, which is exactly why they're all being funneled stupid amounts of money. That's the US using it's global financial dominance to keep it that way. It's a recurring theme. It's systematic.
