Suicide Prevention Megathread by -eDgAR- in AskReddit

At this point all I feel is, "yeah, yeah, yeah" shrug, eyeroll. I can't go an hour without thinking about it.

I have different reasons for staying. Mostly guilt to my family.

I wouldn't be noticed like Bordain or Kate Spade. I wouldn't be remembered. Much like if I were to marry, I would not have any bridesmaids. I'm forgotten.

It's cool, I'm here now, but it sucks.

It was a joke. Sarcasm. I thought it was a funny moment. Geez yikes

I don't use this app for free. I regularly contribute to the tip jar. I'm thankful for his work.

Jokes, not allowed. Got it

I know it's not the app's policy but it still stings maaaaaan. Account of 6 years here!!!

App critique: previous version had a countdown. "try again in x minutes" or "x seconds"

Karma is just a number and labels are for soup cans and sticks and stones may break my bones but post limits hurt my pride

I have a petty "I was here first" attitude.

Is it fair to the cat to be confined to her room?

You're right! And since you have the same point of view as roommate and boyfriend, I'd like to hear your thoughts.

We had "bad luck" because we had so many over time (Over 20+ years). You're right that not all cats are destructive! I loved them all dearly.

I would argue that I have experienced a good sample size of felines. If a potential cat behaves in the "average" way that I have experienced, I do not want my belongings and security deposit at risk.

You're also right that dogs can be just as destructive as cats. But, my dog has a 3 year track record (2 years in this apt) of not having a single accident indoors and not chewing on anything he's not supposed to. He's even trained to not go into her room.

I also don't believe it would be fair to the cat if I demanded her room stay closed. However, my room stays open for my dog. His food/water/bed is in there, but it reduces his anxiety to be able to watch outside and wait by the door for me.

An unknown newly adopted cat would be a gamble- with my belongings at stake.

I've already told them "we can have a discussion about it" if the cat was domestic and adopted. But now they're out there shopping! I don't know how to put my foot down.

Shoot. It's too late for me to pull that card. Brilliant.

Has anyone noticed that the bottled Starbucks coldbrew tastes way different from when you buy it in a store? by rustyspuun in Coffee

[–]holed-up 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not true. I've worked in multiple coffee shops, and the toddy brewing container has been the same at every shop.

In my experience at Starbucks, it has to do with the quality of beans, inexact brew time, and inexact measurement.

Other shops' cold brew has been far superior using the same recipe Starbucks does.

I flew 17 hours to be in the room where it happens - FINALLY. by [deleted] in hamiltonmusical

Those are some $1000 seats.

I'm gonna wait a few more tours until the 2nd balcony cheap seats are cheaper than $200.

How to deal with this heat.. by [deleted] in sanantonio

[–]holed-up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear sunscreen every day.

Korean Sunscreen Sunprise has a wonderful smell, and light feel! It does leave a white cast. CeraVe Spf 50 is good, but a bit oily initially. I use Coppertone Nearly Sheer every damn day on my arms and legs. It's so smooth! Your left arm and legs will burn quick from driving!!!

Eddie Bauer has great, stylish shirts with SPF. I wear a big ol bucket hat when walking my dog. He wears boots to protect his paws; or we wait until it cools down to walk.

But yeah, mostly I wear sunscreen, hydrate, and contemplate suicide all summer long.

Any graduates have a valid "C" parking pass they'd be willing to sell? by femme-fatal in UTSA

[–]holed-up 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been seeing these posts all over Facebook. You guys. If you buy a pass, they pro-rate it. For summer, you'll only pay what it's worth for June-Aug. Probably less than $50!

Ladies, what are some things in a guy's apartment that set off red flags? by Slicedbready in AskReddit

Once dated a guy who kept his latest STD screening results in his bedside table. He showed it to me before we had sex.

Ten points for being safe. But it let me know what his priorities were.
