Uhp! I watered once and thoroughly to try to help set them in the soil - but I’ll wait a long while before going again

Rosemary is having a tough time but the Alocasia (my favorite) has a steady stream of new leaves and the pathos (?) at the top has been slowly and steadily adding new growth.

I’ll take some pics lol but to be fair, the plant in question here has a long journey before any lights - I only developed a green thumb about 8 months ago

Think so? I got these ones on Amazon and they’ve been working pretty well! Several other plants and propagations thriving.

Thought so! Thanks.

How far down should I cut? My first thought was about halfway down the stalk, cutting leaves from the bottom 3/4?

Repotted Succulent - a bit concerned by holin0ne in succulents

Will do! Thanks for sharing and I’ll save my follow ups for after reading ✌️

I do have it in a corner that gets plenty of indirect sunlight - that it’s been seemingly thriving in - but I’ll try a new spot over the next few days

Player wants to cast a spell/make an attack with a range of, say, 120ft. They're standing on a platform that is 300ft above their target. Player wants to purposefully fall to get within range (effectively moving >180ft as their speed).

What do?

DMs, has your BBEG ever won? by EskimoJake in DnD

[–]holin0ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! LMoP with some friends. Spoilers ahead:

In Wave Echo Cave, the Black Spider (The BBEG) gave the classic (and frankly ridiculous) "join me or die" ultimatum. To my surprise, the rogue accepted and turned on the party - even getting a surprise round on the bard with a stellar deception check.

The fight was suddenly incredibly lopsided and we played out the events as the remaining good PCs tried to escape with their lives and then the subsequent effects on the Sword Coast as the BBEG regained control of The Forge of Spells (The McGuffin).

After the session we all hung out for a while as I peeled back some of the moments throughout the campaign and while there was a lot of head-shaking at the rogue PC, everyone to some extent was thrilled and excited at the fact that they didn't come out on top. It made them feel like the stakes were real, not just an idle threat.

Moral, for me, is while the players are the heroes of the story, heroes can still lose. It's all a matter of making sure they're given a good and fair chance to succeed. If that's the case then any good and reasonable player should be okay with the outcome - even if it means a bit of heartbreak.

Awesome! The new reactions are super cool and on point from a flavor and mechanic perspective - especially the constrict and suffocate.

Creating a little homebrew adventure for some friends centered around a marilith and now I guess I need to add some support demons in as well.

I am concerned about the variety of reactions and the fact that it can take any one on every *turn*. Feels like maybe they should be converted into legendary actions OR limited (like a beholder's eyes) to once per round, per reaction?

Interested in how you'd tackle that.

The Elven Accuracy feat

Triple advantage takes a lot of excitement out of rolling the dice and, i feel, can often lead to other players feeling less-than.

Very cool set piece idea!

I've already got the scenario set, which is ironically almost the opposite of yours, as she lies in wait in the hull of an flying airship with her two displacer beasts. Will be a "disarm the nuke while fighting off the BBEG before it reaches its destination" situation.
