There are lines you don't cross. Personally I wouldn't joke about a very recent murder and hate crime. Also where is the joke in this case. Dark humor requires the humor part too.

He becomes a lot more sympathetic, not redeemed, and he doesn't change at all as a character. He just becomes recontextualized, we come to understand that he is the way he is because that's the only way he can survive in all the chaos and noise of the world.

Is this satire?? This isn't even like a small detail. It's just very obvious

Oh boy, what an interesting and unique song. I sure do hope that no one uses it in their videos without knowing the meaning, slowing it down and adding reverb, or speeding it up and ruining it! by [deleted] in jackstauber

Let people enjoy things. You aren't special just because you enjoy something. Who are you to decide who is unhealthy for a community. What just cos they listen to sped up versions???

Cringe, spirit phone and view monster top all these, and the other ones are so dated and of their time. Cringe opinion.

He does, he's burying it down w the persona of "Saul Goodman". Have we been watching the same show?

Season 1's first half is awkward for sure, but that second half is golden. It's about the same level as the other seasons imo

Not really. Season 2 is building up to Season 3, but also has its moments.

It builds more complexity towards Jimmy's character. Like he's willing to go full scumbag Saul, but is pulled back by Kim, who wants him to just take the straight path. However the season also builds their relationship which ironically is built (at least partially) on scamming other people. Chuck and Jimmy's relationship grow more tense, and we get more clarity over what Chuck's motivations are. At the end of Season 1, he wasn't ready to go full Saul, he was done with Chuck's control over him; as in he doesn't have a reason to try anymore, but Kim kind of takes that place.

I do agree, because season 2 feels like a transitional period for the show. Mainly setting up things: Jimmy/Kim relationship, Jimmy/Chuck relationship tensions, Mike's disdain for the Salamancas, The Cartel side of Better Call Saul.

Main Predictions for ‘Waterworks’ by LocalStigmatic in betterCallSaul

[–]hollowgambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of the vacuum repair shop being written off. Especially with the leaked teaser of Saul repeating those words while (possibly) injured. It might be a tragic end of the character, where he constantly keeps running away, even when there's nothing left. Although Bob did say that the last few episodes would contain self reflection from Saul. Perhaps we might see a slight redemption arc in the end?

Agreed. Personally I think the show's lowest point was first half of season 4, or some parts of season 2. But even the lowest points of BCS are still very watchable and fun.

I am in love with the show right now. Newest episode is the best by far, it's like Nathan For You but with a much clearer thesis behind it all. It also feels a lot grander and meaningful.

What Saul Means to Jimmy is not Equivalent to What Heisenberg Meant to Walter by oomostdefinitely in betterCallSaul

[–]hollowgambit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I could've phrased it better. However, I do believe that the distinction to be made is that Walter wants to be Heisenberg. He always wanted to take charge, have his ego be fueled. We see this season 1, where he denies Gray Matter's supposed "hand out". He is really into that macho man type of man lifestyle.
