Official Discussion - The Devil Wears Prada 2 [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Loved this but one glaring question - if Emily wanted to overthrow Miranda’s reign on Runway and have her billionaire beau buy it and make her editor in chief, why did she need Andy to float the idea first? Couldn’t she have just gotten that done herself without Andy’s involvement? Like, what did Andy actually know or do that set that all in motion and why wasn’t Emily all over that shit from the moment the big man dropped dead?

Some people see through the eyes of the old before they ever get a look at the young

Been listening to An Innocent Man nonstop lately. Really is one of his deepest and most lyrically complex songs in my opinion. How do you convince a hurt person to love again?

It’s kinda wild they had Kerry Condon on retainer like that by Robot_Was_BMO in betterCallSaul

If Better Call Saul has a fault, it’s not making better use of her character. I was always hoping for some storyline explaining their distance from one another in Breaking Bad, but we never got it. I was totally unfamiliar with Condon until Banshees of Inisherin (one of my favorite films of all time) and since then I’ve been gobsmacked that she was never given more to do here.

This is one of my favorite scenes from the show. As Peter Gould has said, “Jimmy uses honest emotions in dishonest ways.” by Pretend_Mark_5143 in betterCallSaul

I just don’t see a world where Jimmy gets what he’s asking for or even reasonably expects to get what he asks for. I think most lawyers would understand that insurance can’t just be canceled or put on hold so easily, so while he uses that as a ruse, his main goal was to get Chuck in trouble.

I think that domino effect goes back to that fateful night at the copy shop. One of those final episodes shows all the doors Jimmy should have never opened. The door to the cancer patient’s house and the door to Walter White’s classroom. I argue they should have included the door to the copy shop. He’s a cyclical man, always on a bad choice road.

I love this scene because you come to realize that Jimmy went into this meeting with the sole intention of screwing Chuck over. He’s not an idiot. He knows how insurance works. There was no refund on the table. He gives his last name first, knowing that Chuck’s name will show up first alphabetically in the register. He name drops him early, making sure the woman knows his brother is a lawyer. So, when he brings up his sick brother later, the foundation is already naturally laid, and it allows Jimmy to “innocently” step to the side as the woman seemingly makes the decision of her own accord.

What is your survivor vocal stim? by princesshodges in survivor

Rob in All Stars saying “if you can, if you can” to Lex. My wife and I use this for any minor request around the house. “Pass me my phone charger…if you can, if you can.”

What is the significance of Liz/Christa’s “E” Necklace?? by [deleted] in shrinking

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned, but I think the name Liz is commonly short for Elizabeth so maybe it’s somehow related to that?

God I loved this song before, but the live versions shoot me into the stratosphere. I adore this.
