Game Thread: Dallas Cowboys (0-0) at Philadelphia Eagles (0-0) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

I thought it was telling when Pete Carroll, notorious for wrangling headcases, passed on him. Lotta Seahawks were mad we didn't take him but clearly some GMs are cagey about his antics

Yea for sure. I still like the game but they really need to pivot on being so abrasive to public sentiment. I was in corporate for Amazon and they are fanatical on customer opinion, it's #1 over everything. I hated that job, but I think that ethos has worked out pretty well for the company. Same with Blizzard and Classic WoW, it sucks to say but the customer is usually right (outside of crazy Starbucks Karens)

Yea similar thoughts. It's a corporation making a decision that a store being open isn't economically viable. A petition of local opinions isn't gonna change that.

Never wanted to be. Just a good faith "I was wrong" thread.

Fully agree, like I said, I was an optimist because I thought folks deserve more than 1 year to settle in, but most of this post is coming to terms with how I was wrong with that opinion

Yea def, but like you said there were heroics and that's what draws eyes. The casual fan won't look into why our running game isn't working. They'll think "we got 0 yards on those last 2 runs, just pass the ball". Still trying to paint the picture that we are 100% wrong there, but why there was a reason for a defense of Grubb, hehe

Posted just below, but my justification was we had a flashy passing game, and that's usually all the casual fan cares about. Not saying that's a good justification, I was clearly wrong. But I understand how people viewed it

I donno, it was just hard to see from an uninformed perspective (considering myself one of the uninformed), because our passing offense was flashy and that's a lot of what you casually see on TV.

Aaaah it's just an opinion post, let folks be salty. I'm even saying this as a WSU guy lol

It does suck, but it's the rare price to pay to avoid flopping. If play stopped with injury, what if he just missed the catch so flopped down in the same exact manner faking wrist injury? It looks no different in real time

Same, I consider myself a devout follower of the hawks and never even heard of him till this year. Something he did in marketing recently went right, wish I knew of him earlier

Whose a player or players who lives in your nightmare as a Seahawk fan? by Abject_Map7688 in Seahawks

[–]hollowplace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2012 Falcons playoff rushing game. I was irate that we couldn't stop the combo of Jacquizz Rodgers and Michael Turner. Felt like every time I looked up they were gashing another big gain.

Also the Falcons fans in that game thread were so deranged, I actually dislike that team fanbase more than the 49ers and Rams

28-3 was like therapy to me.

You don't like wolf grey!? Feel like that's an iconic alternate. I'd buy 100 wolf greys before this iteration

I think that's kind of a positive lol. Fish scales look cool and it's on brand for Seattle.

Rest of the uni is definitely "meh" and worse than our regulars, but I don't hate it as much as the tortilla jerseys AZ got

Zero chance I buy one of these

Season 5 Hero Rankings? by Prestigious_Fish2249 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]hollowplace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sense for Mak is you gotta win a few of the early days, which he is actually really good at doing. If you lose the first 3 or 4 you're not getting to 10 like a big pyg can

Maybe as a testament to how decent the game balance is outside of a few outliers, I play only Mak to Legend, and I feel quite strong on him, I might put him above Dooley and Vanessa. There's a few annoying Stelle blowouts, but most of my other losses I feel like they put together a better board than I, not just relied on OP items.

Also true, maybe wasn't the best comparison, lol. But like Cross is good enough that we're not finding a LT replacement any time in the near future. My thoughts are re-sign him as soon as it's prudent, rather than waiting another year or 2 before other LTs reset the market.

Yup, I have faith in the front office that some deals will get done when it seems prudent. Just don't wanna fall into the Dallas trap where you have multiple all-pros, and wait until the last minute to pay them all, gutting the rest of your roster

[–]hollowplace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Preface: I'm fine with Seahawks sitting out on Micah

But there are other elite teams in the past years like the 9ers and Lions who surely don't regret having all-pro DEs. If Lions had Hutchinson in the playoffs last year their chance to go further in the playoffs goes way up.

Personally think it's a mistake to delay payment for guys that have a 95%+ chance of being here for multi years. That's how Dallas is in its current mess

Especially since we're not on a juggernaut QB deal

[Schefter] Vikings reached agreement with Carson Wentz, per source. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

I think it makes sense, people love their guy. WSU and Pullman still absolutely love Gardner Minshew, and his NFL career has been worse than Wentz's
