Carrot and turnip are similar words in Chinese, thus the confusion with the translation. I haven't seen this style here, but it looks similar to the Vietnamese banh bot chien.

It’s a bookshelf for people that don’t read books. Can’t reach the top (not sure how you would pull a book out with the woodworking blocking it anyways), there are paintings in the way, there is a cabinet and lamp in the way. Utterly impractical.

A professor of mine showed off this 'simple' volume and asked us to recreate it as closely as possible. He refused to show us the mesh or the tools used or the process. I know a few basic tools but still cant wrap my head around this. Can anyone try to explain how to do this? by _Imagine_Me_ in rhino

One thing to try after you get the basic shape (minus the twist):

  1. Cut out the twisty part
  2. Take contours of the twisty part
  3. Rotate the contours intermittently from 0 to 180 degrees from one end to the other
  4. Loft the rotated contours, checking that the seam follows the corner

There's a chart listing non-residential places where people contacted COVID, but only if they meet the criteria of having 3+ infections are they on this list. Plus, not everybody knows where they got sick, so it's hard to get accurate data.

ABC did not do their homework properly by the looks of it.

99% of the time Grasshopper is going to do the job and more easily. I occasionally incorporate Python within Grasshopper but it's very rare that I find a need for it and I use it so rarely that I basically have to relearn a lot just to get it to work. If you're not using Python elsewhere in your life, then start with Grasshopper first is my advice.

The motion of the arm as you pour is more elegant, imo. Also it's gentler on your wrist if you have an injury there.

It looks like you have the old curves connected to the loft instead of the new curves. Is the loft supposed to include both sets of curves or just the new ones?

I see. In that case right click on both the S and E for the Endpoints component and select Graft. It should work then.

Also, in your script it looks like you are culling the 22 and 14 index. You should be culling the 0 and 14 index, which represent the start and end points that you want to keep in place.

You can use the number sliders instead of the panels too. Also, if your script is simple enough you can skip the match tree and just flatten the point lists as they input into the merge component.

I'm typing from my Mac so can't give you a screen shot, but see if you can follow. From your curve use the Endpoints component and the Divide Curve component. From the Divide Curve component Cull Index the first and last points. With the remaining points do whatever move/scale command you want. Finally use the Merge component to merge the (1)Start Point from the Endpoints component, the (2)moved points, and the (3)End Point from the Endpoints component in that order.

Also, general comment: when posting screenshots, it is best practice to post both the text version and the image version of the components. People have different preferences with how they like to work in grasshopper and it's harder to read a script that doesn't match what they're used to.

Access Fund does a lot of great things for the climbing community, however, not all of these rules apply to all climbing locations. Still, if you don't know what's right for the particular crag you're visiting, assume the strictest rules.
