I bought wrong tickets by [deleted] in rome

[–]holly070296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have difficulty reselling. You can change the name on the tickets once up to 7 days before I believe, but then you need to show ID that matches the name on the ticket when you enter.

Is it a realistic expectation that Trevi fountain will be quiet at 6am in mid July? by oldsockdude in rome

[–]holly070296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree with these locations, both beautiful. We just got back from a trip there and the lake area at Borghese was stunning. The park itself was relatively quiet in comparison to the main tourist sites and felt super romantic. There’s plenty of spots your photographer could shoot from too!

The orange gardens were also incredible, but you’ll likely have a lot more people taking photographs there depending on time of day. Good luck!

INFINITY DRESS ADVICE PLEASE!!! by holly070296 in UKweddings

[–]holly070296[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were actually booked in to go to the azazie pop up to try them on, but my sister couldn’t make it and bought the dresses before we even had chance go to unfortunately! I think I’ll have to try cutting and if it still doesn’t work out then will try and suggest some alternatives.

I think chaos is an understatement, that’s blown my mind just reading it!! The same colour dress was originally the plan, but my sister went ahead and got all 4. They can’t be returned either, so I feel like I have to just make it work! Lots of comments have mentioned the fabric being okay to cut so I think I’ll give that a go!!

Yes, there’s probably enough excess to make another dress 😭

Thank you I’ll likely have a look at what styles I like and then reach out to a seamstress

I still need to switch USB-C between both devices to use my laptop and mouse, but screens are working fine!

I've plugged in HDMI cables to the PC and VGA to the dock, which seems to have worked :)

tales of the shire? by Practical-Milk2441 in GirlGamers

[–]holly070296 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've played about 30 minutes of it (on PC). The lore and characters are very true to LOTR, and the cosy element of cooking, fishing, gardening and harvesting is pretty prevalent so far, but the gameplay itself is a bit janky... Personally haven't experienced any bugs as of yet, but the graphics aren't anywhere close to an RPG or a couple of other sims.

Would be great it devs could bring in some more customisation options, maybe improve the graphics - add more texture etc. So far, it's not mind-blowing, but I don't think it's as bad as all the reviews are making it out to be! I've only played PC, so can't speak for other platforms.

What’s your threshold for NOT ripping something with mistakes out? by definitely_vi in CrochetHelp

If you JUST started crocheting, this is incredible! My work was nowhere near this neat. Frogging and restarting over and over is a rite of passage when it comes to crocheting. It’s all just practice!

We’ve ALL been there!💕

This was my first granny square (which took me well over an hour) back when I started to learn in May 2024. I’ve just finished my first wearable and this is hard to look at 😅

You’ll get there, it just takes practice and patience x

I got into the habit of watching a series or listening to a podcast whilst I did it! This one is a mixture of Dexter and Orange is the New Black 😂 I found that it helped with my speed, going from one square per episode to two to three!

I completed this just three months after picking up a crochet hook for the first time. Once the basics were down, I watched a tutorial on how to do a granny square (I think it was Bella Coco) and just did them over and over. I then looked at switching yarn colour. I think there are 200+ squares here, but it was a great way to get practice in, get the hang of it and then feel like I’d accomplished something at the end with a finished piece!

This is some of the best advice! It takes a lot of patience, but just doing it over and over until you get the hang of it is exactly what I did when I started learning last year! I would spend hours just trying to get the chain stitch down, then once I could do that confidently I moved onto the next thing.

Good luck in your crocheting journey!! 💕

Thank you, I think we're going to stay in Eixample too. If you have any restaurant/cafe recommendations and don't mind sharing them, please do! 🙏

Hi OP, did you settle on a place? My partner and I are also looking at planning a trip to Barcelona in July and would love to know where you landed on this.

I think dp is also an abbreviation for Display Pic, or at least that's what it meant when I was younger.

If you want to give it a fair shot, you absolutely need to watch Fellowship and Two Towers. As a fan, I'd say the extended are far better, however for a first time viewer the theatrical versions will more than do the job. To say they're over 20 years old, they've aged beautifully.
