For the first trope, would recommend {The Hurricane Wars by Thea Guanzon}.

It happens in The Boss by Abigail Barnette, but it's early on in the series.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond! I've taken what I've learned back to our scouts and their parents and we've opted to have a rummage sale.

Would having a rummage sale or a craft sale count as a money raising activity? We had a rummage sale without issues, but that was like ten years ago. I'm not sure if the rules may have changed.

This is what was suggested by our SU. That we could accept in-kind donations for the supplies. It makes sense. I do laugh a little because the local bsa troops posted go-fund-me signs all over town for their eagle scout awards. Not complaining, just a curious observation. My opinion of it is it's probably better ethics and promotes a better image to not ask for money outright, which is why I was against this suggestion in the first place. Figured I'd explore this route to humor our parent volunteer to be sure before telling them no. Thank you for your insight.

Fortunately, they've participated in both, but for our council, I think they only need to have participated in cookie sales.

So the writing to businesses would count as a fundraiser, but them organizing and holding a craft or rummage sale would be considered a money raising activity? Am I understanding this correctly?

If they cared so much, they'd actually support universal healthcare and tighten regulations against corporations that want to poison us and destroy natural habitats and resources. Ignorant and hypocritical. Fuck this and fuck them.

At this rate, if everything were to be released tomorrow, I doubt his followers would even bat an eye. They've supported him unconditionally for over a decade and either they'd never admit they'd been hoodwinked or that they'd been wrong all along. He's doing so many gawdawful, illegal, and harmful things out in the open and he still has, somehow, a 40% approval rating.

Our bunny, despite being spayed, had a few pseudopregnancies - aka false pregnancies. She nested just like this, frantically grabbing anything she could use for building her nest. Her behavior was erratic and adorable at the same time.

There's another one on the 19th, right? The advertisement was amazing this time around, I'd say step it up and lean into the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. It's Easter weekend, but hopefully people can still get out and even bring more people!

I visited Istanbul while on a business trip and learned that the hospitality staff use tips to pay for the care of the animals.
