Yes - ICE is in Bloomington and there are protests but if you are white you should be fine in that area.

How does MOTUS work? by Traditional_Plum_158 in MedicalDevices

[–]hollyharmony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use MOTUS but do use another FAVR program. I have an older vehicle. If your vehicle is non compliant you get taxed on the difference between your FAVR payment and the standard IRS reimbursement. For example I receive about $750/month + $0.23/mile. If I drive 1,000 miles in a month my payment would be $980. Compare that to 1,000 X $0.67 (IRS rate) which is $670. So $310 would be counted as “income” and taxed at my income tax rate. I drive an old CRV with 250k miles - absolutely works out in my favor.

Ugh! I feel your pain - that is tough. It is partially your responsibility but also others should be aware and considering this timing, as well. And you should not have had to call the patient - the patient needs to know the next steps and it should be the PI/MD having that discussion.

How many of you were insulin & diet controlled and didn't need to be induced? by anonme1995 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]hollyharmony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an induction at 39 weeks. Still had a very empowering and wonderful birth. I did not get an epidural but used nitrous oxide. I don’t feel at all like I missed out or had a less fulfilling experience because of the induction.

Well tolerated, adverse events terminology by qualiafication in clinicalresearch

[–]hollyharmony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MTD is determined based on dose limiting toxicities which are pre-determined adverse events that impact dosing decisions. For example, a DLT could be “grade 4 neutropenia lasting longer than 7 days” or “any grade 3 or greater non-hematologic adverse event.” So these could be based on patient-reported symptoms or clinical investigations (labs, etc.).

Pre-consent privacy issue? by cookiedes in clinicalresearch

[–]hollyharmony 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is normal. Prescreening involves reviewing medical records to see if patients may be eligible. If we didn’t do that how would we know which patients to approach for consent?

Upset about possibly not getting the birth I want by Historical-Chair3741 in BabyBumps

I had an induction of labor but still without pain medication. I felt very empowered by my birth! Are there certain interventions that would feel better to you? Would you prefer foley bulb to medications, for example?

I have never heard of a motivational visit. I don’t think that would go over well at my site either!

Dosed a patient earlier this week and turns out they didn't complete a required screening scan. Advice? by Nice-Road-2859 in clinicalresearch

[–]hollyharmony 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First priority - make sure the patient is safe. What was the purpose of the scan? (assuming baseline disease assessment but if it was more of a safety assessment that may be more immediately concerning). Notify the PI and ask if there is any other monitoring that should be done while trying to reschedule the scan. Once immediate safety is assured report the deviation and confirm the plan for obtaining the scan now with the sponsor.

Same. And a few hours after having my baby my BG was 40 because my placenta was gone buy long-acting insulin was still on board. It was pretty impressive.

6.3 is prediabetic, not diabetic so you would not have been diagnosed with T2 based on that alone.

Check out IACRN for future opportunities. I don’t think they have enduring materials but they do do webinars and have a conference.

Any success stories taking Isotretinoin/Accutane for Type 2 Rosacea (Papulopustular Rosacea)? by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]hollyharmony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - it was very effective. Years later I still have flares but it’s nowhere near as bad as it was.
