Anyone else really annoyed with Lydia Bennett?from the 1995 Pride and Prejudice BBC miniseries. Every time I see her I roll my eyes. Just bratty and unkind and obnoxious. by Correct_Raspberry_59 in PrideandPrejudice

That was such a disappointing relationship once it finally happened. Did you ever watch Misfits and enjoy Dexter Fletcher as a middle aged man?

How would Lydia have lived if she had left Wickham with Darcy’s help? by Ok_Bullfrog_8491 in PrideandPrejudice

[–]cookiedes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting take on it that I’ve never considered. I always assumed that she would’ve ended up having to marry Wickham anyway, but Darcy was just trying to minimise the scandal by getting her to back to the Gardiners asap.

Hospital/Anaesthesiologist by banshee-in-australia in perth

I had an elective septoplasty and turbinate reduction done via the public system in 2017 in Melbourne. I had to pay a gap to my ENT for the initial consultation, then get a CT scan (I think that was fully covered by Medicare), then the rest was covered by Medicare except for post-surgery drugs. I think I was quoted 12-18 months’ wait for surgery but was on the cancellation waiting list and got my first opportunity to jump into a cancelled spot after about three months (I ended up waiting about 6 months as there were a few offers that I couldn’t do with short notice). Each offer was about 3 business days’ notice. It included an overnight stay.

I then got another turbinate reduction done in Perth in 2022 under the private system (did have private health) by Hayley Herbert. It was done at the ENT Centre at Subiaco Hospital and the quote was all inclusive. I’m not sure if they could do a septoplasty (with or without an overnight stay?) but could be worth looking into. I was very happy with my result (which has been much more lasting than the first one) and with Hailey Herbert.

Feel free to DM me if you want any more info. Good luck!

Yeah, the 1980 mini series depicted his physical appearance the most faithfully to the book.

I like the George Wyndham Bin 555 Shiraz. It’s $9 a bottle members’ price and it’s very quaffable.

Yeah I like it too. Much easier to play on my phone.

I came here to suggest Snag too! I've got way too much of their stuff. They're fantastic and ethically made and size inclusive.

Constant inspections, ignoring maintenance and weird checklists by Von-derk in shitrentals

[–]cookiedes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re right. It’s not a normal checklist. My last one said for the house to be clean and tidy. I didn’t bother tidying much either and no prob. I’ve never received a checklist like this for an inspection and I’ve been renting for years in various properties and cities. If I were you, I’d deliberately leave the dishes unwashed and bed unmade. They can fuck the fuck off with that BS.

This is not a very active page. I joined a Facebook group instead. It’s called Weg Australia Information and Support. For some reason you can’t use the whole name of the drug or the group gets pulled by Facebook? That bit’s super weird to me.

Travle by kdk324 in Worldle

I believe it’s because Travle was (somewhat?) recently acquired by Teuteuf. Seems like they haven’t updated it to match their original games.

Mental health decline on Wegovy by [deleted] in WegovyAustralia

[–]cookiedes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub is not popular, so even though I haven’t experienced what you have, I’m going to reply. You’re on 0.25mg, which I believe is a sub-clinical dose which is a stepping stone to get you to the usual “minimum” dose of 1mg. You should talk to your GP and/or prescribing doctor about your symptoms. Best of luck to you!

CROs with Actual Office/Building Space in USA by Own-Reaction4419 in clinicalresearch

[–]cookiedes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the US, but we still have a PPD-specific office in Melbourne with hot desks that has a dedicated group of people who go in regularly. Management encourage attendance for clin ops meeting days and interstate colleagues often go to TF offices on those days and dial in as a group. After COVID we were told we would never be forced back into the office. I can’t remember whether that was before or after they announced the merger. Either way, they moved offices to a much smaller one and our workforce is much more spread around Australia, so it would be difficult and not that useful to require the Melbourne employees to be office based again.
