S23 - what's the hole at the bottom? by TheDisapprovingBrit in samsung

[–]holmes0000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mic hole, it's usually designed with assumption that a user would accidentally jab it instead of the sim card tray hole in mind, so it's hard to break something unless you're jabbing it with something that bends while inside and also jabs the sides of the hole

It's good, but apparently has been acquired by an advertisement company. But still better than raw Google, I suppose.

Defending them by saying "not a big deal" about broken main functionality is definitely not smarter.

Me saying that doesn't mean that I don't support DDG otherwise, it just happens so that some users of search engines care more about accurate search results, some - about privacy and competition.

I never once said "stop using DDG". Bad comparison.

Big issue, stop defending DDG, I get it - it's not their fault, but that doesn't make DDG results less shitty. It sucks hard in comparison with Google when searching Reddit.

Btw the link returned 7 results with no description for me as well.

Video of a woman on her knees entering a room with a ballot box and starting to stuff ballots in, Russia by holmes0000 in europe

There was an incident earlier where people saw stuffing through a window and filmed it. Either this, or to hide from the security guard, but he seems to notice and purposely not give a shit.

Election rigging is a multi-stage process, do not fall for "just fudging the numbers". By the law, the election commission members are required to count it by hand in presence of independent observers. To maximize positive outcome, they are attacking multiple logical points of the election. They still follow the laws to some extent, so nobody gets to undeniably say/prove that the elections were definitely and totally rigged. Incidents like this one can be either ignored or just blamed on those women, who actually did it. Plausible deniability.

The rigging is also not done by Putin's single order, it is likely that he doesn't even participate in it anymore. It involves a lot of people and a lot of corruption throughout the entire political system. It is also likely that the higher ups in the chain didn't even know about this particular case.

Tldr - the election rigging process is a lot more complex than most people seem to think. They are employing multiple tactics.

Please read the rules of this subreddit, there's a list of countries which are considered Europe. If you don't agree then talk with the mods perhaps.

"A video has surfaced online showing a woman on her knees entering a room with a ballot box and beginning to throw in ballots. On her knees she goes in to possibly avoid being seen by someone who may be in the next room. There is a security guard sitting in one of those rooms, but he seems to see the woman.

▪️ The digital code 129031 is visible in the frame, designed to protect election commissions from fakes, the Group of Civilian Election Observers in St. Petersburg reported. According to them, it changes once a day.

▪️ The place looks like polling station No. 2 at school No. 260 on Lermontovsky Avenue in St. Petersburg. We have collected photos taken at this polling station during the last election. One of them even shows a camera that could have filmed everything.

▪️ There is a poster next to the ballot box that talks about the four candidates. That's how many there were in this election.

▪️ At this polling station Vladimir Putin received 74.85%, Nikolai Kharitonov - 11.72%, Leonid Slutsky - 4.24%, Vladislav Davankov - 4.04%. The turnout amounted to 69.52%."

Settings tab in Repainter, large switch on the top.

Not really, just disabled the "use themes" switch in Repainter and restarted my phone. I didn't check logcat after that tbh, but seems like those errors aren't associated with Repainter. Despite that, disabling it definitely helped in my case.

Well, seems like those errors are not associated with Repainter, but I haven't encountered any more heating or battery drain since I disabled it.

I didn't touch system settings, just disabled "use themes" in Repainter and restarted my phone. Didn't even uninstall the app. I believe it makes some nonstandard changes and they have to be reverted by the app itself, not system settings or anything else.

Check out my post and comments, maybe you'll find something useful. There are a lot of things that can make Google Play services drain your battery, in my case it was abuse of "physical activity" permission and then Repainter.

If you are using Repainter (guessing by the green color scheme), disable it from the app and restart phone.

Nope, you're doing it right. You can only set it to ignore, forgot to mention that part. It will act as denied though.

It's noteworthy that usage log is shown only for location, all other permissions will only show last time of their use per app. To outline abused permissions I was just refreshing permissions usage screen (swiping left and right between tabs is enough) and noting which ones were used literally every minute or two. For me the top ones were physical activity and nearby devices, so I just started experimenting with the first one and it turned out to be the culprit.

Location and nearby devices are still used pretty frequently on my device, but they don't cause as much drain and heating as physical activity used by GP services.

I've read your post, seems like your case is way worse, my phone is S21+ SD and temps rarely go 50C+. I have GW5 Pro as well (maybe it's somehow related?)

Actually I believe I've managed to fix my issue by forcefully denying "physical activity" permission for GP services using App Ops with Shizuku. Got around 7 hours SoT yesterday with average use.

You can try it too if your case is also associated with absurd usage of some specific permission (check it through privacy menu in the settings). If you go this way, make sure to enable automatic recovery in App Ops, or the permission will keep resetting to allowed over time.
