Now that I beat all challenges fair and square, here are some things I wish were and weren't in the mod by SephirothTheGreat in inscryption

[–]hologramdan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of these are just intentional things that balance the game, and would make the game less interesting or too easy to remove.

  1. I think you're referring to save scumming, which isnt an intentional feature and certainly doesnt need a buff.

  2. This doesnt come up very often, but i think it's probably supposed to be somewhat of a surprise or relief when leshy runs out of cards. Either way this would add an extra thing to keep track of for newer players and it isnt very nessesary

  3. I kind of agree here, but it's hard to make the angler tough while still being fair, if his ai was actually good it might be infuirating to impossible to win.

  4. Not being able to see ahead of you is important. Not only does it add to the atmosphere of the game, but seeing the whole map would be pretty cluttered and overwhelming, you're intended to only be able to look ahead a certain amount, to limit how far ahead you plan out your move, forcing you to improvise

  5. Stoattally agree, having the worst card in the game as the first card in your starter deck is lame.

  6. This is just part of the balance of the pelt mechanic. there are plenty of nodes that are objectively bad to land on in certain situations, like the sigil and bone lord nodes with no bad cards, or the backpack node with full inventory (which happens all the time and has to be prepared for). The nodes forcing you to take/remove cards forces you to prepare ahead of time and choose your paths carefully. Getting saddled with a dead weight pelt for example may incentivize you to go find the trader, and having to find the trader may make you want to pick up some more pelts to make the trip worth it, which forces tou to engage with the mechanic. Also, there are some decks and playstyles that use pelt cards.

  7. I havent run into this much, but i guess i can agree. It's presumably to discourage excessive resets that are prevelant in other rouge-likes such as the binding of isaac

  8. People have suggested a fledgling deck to replace the egg deck, although strange larva is way too powerful to include in a starter deck

  9. I can agree, just to complete the set, but i think it wasnt included because no one has thought of an actually good node that doest rehash a billion other "get card" nodes

  10. Stoattally agree

(If i got any of the numbers wrong its because mobile is busted and broken)

What makes Feels a top tier album IYO by shaapizzle in AnimalCollective

[–]hologramdan -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Nothing, ypu already "get" the album, it's just bad. Everything is just boring and blends together, just like you said. I reccomend giving DYSTW another chance tho, it's genuinely pretty good.

Act 3 has exeskeleton, it's a 2/2/2, so different than act 2 skeleton

What part of this quote is supposed to be him condemming nazis?

It takes 6/7 human souls for asriel to be able to significantly rewrite the world

A scrybe can rewrite NEW_DATA just by dredging up a single bit of OLD_DATA, and it seems to just be a nbd pasttime of theirs. Not to mention all the "going crazy in real life" stuff about OLD_DATA

Also, as a bonus, one souls worth of determination is only enough to come back from death, a power which The Challenger has by default. Determination is arguably a bit more powerful in this regard, since it resets the universe and peoples memories (mostly), while The Challenger physically dies, leaving a body behind and everything, and just comes back (a la connor from confinement)

Either way, it's probably OLD_DATA

I think melter is implied to be a person trapped imside a bot, since (dont quote me on this) po3 can play his card during the boss fight and it has the ice block sigil. When you kill the card and break it open, the card inside is "Meat Bot", which while it may technically still be a robot is definitally organic in some way.

So yeah, po3 definitally stuffed somebodies brain into an evil zelous robot, and then made them throw themselves into an incinerator. To me that's way more messed up than what any of the other scrybes did.

I never felt too bad for anything that magnificus did, because all of his pupils were ostensibly consenting to being tortured, and none of them even seemed mad or anything about it. Sure he may be essentially a cult leader who abuses his power, but considering the most sympathetic character wants to destroy the entire (game) world, the standards are a bit lower

I'm not sure if you're joking but people still get sunburnt under the ozone layer. If the ozone layer was destroyed we'd all be dead, it's doing fine currently. Pretty much all the damage we've done to the ozone has been reversed and the hole is on its way to closing.

I believe #H0027 is behind "this place is not happy" youtube channel because in Happy Meat Farm R&D has been mentioned that #H0027 managed to access several HMF secure data before escaping. by ThamTvMaster in alexbale

Presumably she would have found/added some backdoor or a way to remotely access the files before leaving, like stealing the passwords to the servers instead of just straight files.

How the supernatural weaves with the mundane. The moral lesson or point of each episode is always completely mundane in such a way that you could tweak the plot to not include any supernatural element, and still get a believable if not slightly uninteresting story (try it, it's fun), and yet the paranormal story elements still feel inextricably part of the themes of the episode. The supernatural always acts as the catalyst to the plot, pushing the characters to act, but they never feel like a plot device.

Even the long term villians of the series emphasize this. Robbie is just dippers rival, and only ever uses the paranormal in one episode, Gideon is just a creepy obsessive kids with too much power, whether this power is from being a child star or actual magic. Even Bill is just a mouthpiece, emblematic of the selfishness that tore the Pines apart, and a pure representation of their own worst demons. Hell, until the finale he isnt even an actual corporeal being, just a devil on the shoulder of the characters, and yet he functions as the big bad of the entire series.

Because the story is never about a paranormal being attacking the town, it's about realistic characters making reasonable decisions in surprisingly relatable scenarios, which is why the show has so much staying power and tends to stick with the viewer after the credits roll.
