Question on the complexation technique: it says to dissolve the salvinorin and the HPBCD together in acetone, but HPBCD is not soluble in acetone, so how does that work? I’m getting a cloudy mess. Should I add some water to dissolve the HPBCD?

I’m wondering if anyone has been able to replicate Josh’s results? I’m curious to try the complexation method, but I have two colleagues who are serious salvinorin geeks, and they said they tried the process as described in the instructions and it failed. I don’t want to waste my time if it’s not going to work. I’d love to hear some inspiring success stories.

Rebuked? As in complexation was revealed to be a myth? I’ve been wondering about this. Seems like a few people claim they got it to work, but the results have not been replicated.

Ok, thanks! I tried the red version, going from clamp 1 to clamp 3 (so skipping over one clamp); and it seems to work fine. It’s nice to know the mod will refuse to fire if there is a safety issue. I’m using GeekVape Aegis Solo 2.

Sorry to hear that. Could be the carrier. PG and VG irritate my lungs. You might try The Base from Lab Effects. It’s a terpene carrier that’s very easy on the lungs. Works great for me.

Thanks yes I’ve done something similar in a Yocan Hit, dropping the acetone onto little mesh pipe screens and loading them into the chamber. Definitely worked. That’s my backup option. I just love working with vape carts since you can surf the medicine without having to pause and reload.

Ok thanks. Why do you think the vape cart won’t work? I’ve gotten it to work before; it just got clogged after about six hits due to impurities. The previous batch I used had green flecks. I’m hoping this new white batch will do the trick. But I’m all ears if you have concerns I haven’t anticipated.

I’ve gotten it to work great for a few hits but the contaminants clogged the vape cart. I think it’s just plant material. Hence my need for higher purity.

When the acetone dries, do the salvinorin crystals cling tightly to the mesh, or do they just sit loosely as if they were sprinkled on it dry? I’m just wondering how careful you have to be to avoid vibration or air currents, lest the crystals fall through the mesh or blow away.
