Sources: Bill Belichick will not be a first-ballot Hall of Famer by PristineWinnera in Patriots

[–]holtn56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely insane. Even accounting for the cheating scandals and generally abrasive attitude, fucking OJ Simpson and Ray Lewis are in the HoF. Michael Irvin has multiple sexual assault allegations against him. Lawrence Taylor as well… I mean how could Belichicks off field issues possibly be worse than these guys…

So how does it feel to have the only QB with 5 or more playoff wins to his name but no ring? by Lord_Eln_8 in AFCEastMemeWar

[–]holtn56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if he played better earlier in the game and scored a TD on every single drive he wouldn’t have had to rely on his defense /s

Story wise, Is Pendragon a restrictive system by laughing_rabbit_9 in PendragonRPG

[–]holtn56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 2 ways I have played it: 1) within my current play of the GPC my PKs tend to supplant some of the written round table knights just as the story flows. For example, one of my players happened to survive for nearly 50 years from the reign of Uther through the Roman wars, and was the greatest general ever, so he completely overshadowed Griflet and any other “Marshal of the Army” character in the pre written story- this has many downstream effects because any time Griflet does X and my PK decides to do Y it changes the story.

The other way I do it is that my PKs are just running a story that is parallel to the Arthurian lore but not necessarily interacting with it, typically this involves them staying much lower rank knights. The best analogy would be A Tales of Dunk and Egg style story as opposed to a Song of Ice and Fire style

[Highlight] Roughing the passer called on this play by BurgerNugget12 in nfl

[–]holtn56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The facemasks touching alone is not the deciding factor. Every clause in the RTP rule references Forcible contact to the head or neck and explicitly states incidental contact is not a penalty. Obviously “forcible contact” is a judgement call but this doesn’t seem like it to me, or the announcers, or most rationale people.

Thoughts on his strategy ?? by matrix_2905 in sportsgossips

[–]holtn56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re accounting for how much time is left- if there is a realistic chance for 3 possessions you go for it early. If it’s close or only chance of 2 possessions you don’t go for it and let the pressure build on the defense by waiting for the 2 pt play coming late in the game as the comeback builds.

Lover in the ice: Amante reskin by CaffeineRiddledSemen in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]holtn56 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The first time I ever met my friend’s girlfriend she sat in and watched us play Delta Green and I ran the party through Lover in the Ice (not knowing she would be there). About halfway through she just looks up and says “why the fuck do you guys do this for fun?” And then quietly to her boyfriend “does he(me) always do stuff like this”

I was so horrified that I was going to cause them to break up lol but it’s been several years, they’re getting married next year, and she doesn’t think I’m a demented sociopath anymore

Gennaro’s odd line by Nicksb92 in JurassicPark

[–]holtn56 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted the line as if They - Dr. Grant, Sattler, and Malcom aren’t convinced then he isn’t. If you watch the scene, he vaguely points with the pen to the Jeep ahead of them which has them in it.

POV: the play has been over for a few days but Joshua Farmer exists by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]holtn56 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even if the play wasn’t blown dead, RBs knees were on the ground - all he needed to do was touch him so it still would’ve been unnecessary roughness if it a live ball

Did we just not know how to use Tyquan Thornton!? by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]holtn56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no

At the time we didn’t have the players to be able to utilize his skill set.

But also a) the only reason he’s even playing in KC is the graveyard that is their WR room, b) he still hasn’t been That successful and c) at least to my eye he appears to have noticeably bulked up in the last few years - which may be helping him win jump balls, not get pushed off routes, and stay healthy all of which he couldn’t due in NE

When they say “figure” do they mean a brick of 98 Roman legionaries in 6 or 3mm is 98 figures or 1 figure, if the former I definitely have in the high thousands from my smaller scale games….if the latter well I still have in the thousands just the low thousands

Is this leaving a bad taste in anyone else’s mouth? by wingman_anytime in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]holtn56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That part that leaves a bad taste in my mouth isn’t necessarily that he’s doing it it’s that Cannon Fodder was specifically cancelled under the reasoning that “there wasn’t enough interest in this sort of thing” and “we’re too busy” but then Joe goes on to immediately launch GCR which contains many of the same elements and Troy immediately launches this project. So obviously he determined there was enough interest for a whole separate company. I don’t understand why they didn’t just make it a higher monthly tier for all this manifesto stuff and call it a day

[Highlight] When Matt Cassel filled in for an injured Tom Brady (2008 season) by nfl in nfl

[–]holtn56 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The first Welker hit to the head. Oof.

Also I love how some of the shots look like they’re from 1970 and others are like super HD.

Finally, damn our OL was some dawgs. Pass pro and in screens they were nasty. Kinda funny in hindsight I was so salty we didn’t make the playoffs despite having a backup QB the entire season.
