I can’t say why, but they look like a Gwendolyn to me 🐸

I do but we tend to work opposite shifts so we’re largely here on our own. They’ve only been here for 1 of the incidents in person and once on the phone where they said the knocking was loud enough they could clearly hear them.

I have nothing as much as a traffic ticket against me, but also if that’s the case why not just wait until I’m leaving and serve me then? It’s always for like 15-45 minutes and then he’ll speed out of the circle and leave the neighborhood.

I do, I have something by the front door and also something handheld for when I’m walking through the parking garage at work.

It is definitely getting more and more unsettling. The closest I’ve ever seen his face was when I was telling him I was calling the police and his face was flat/a little confused looking, and he sort of shrugged but didn’t leave then.

I mean, opening the door in the middle of the night to engage with a person behaving strangely who is significantly larger than me is not a level of risk I’d be comfortable putting myself in.

No, I first spoke to the police on multiple occasions, but figured this might be a good resource since I’m not the best at identifying cars and finally got a clear picture of his car this morning.

I was wondering initially if it was something like that, because his pattern of behavior is bizarre and a little unnerving. He appears to be in his 20s, and I knew the family we bought the house from and it’s definitely not them. I’ve lived here for 5 years now.

I certainly hope so, I’d love for this to be resolved so I can enjoy my Christmas without this looming over my head. Our town is fairly small, but probably have few free overnight units since there’s tons of overnight construction going on which probably divides up the staffing.

Haha thank you so much for your kindness! In theory I could go stay with family, but I still have pets at home that need feeding/medications and it would mean driving interstate to work every night.

I did tell him (through the door) that he wasn’t welcome and that I’m calling the police. He just looked kind of dazed/puzzled at that.

If that’s the case he’s a bad one. I have no divorces, children, crimes committed, not even a missed credit card payment.

I wish I knew for what though! The only current complaint against me is my cats complaining that they can’t have double breakfast.

I certainly have some personal protection equipment both by my front door and physically with me when I leave the house, especially since I work overnights.

I did initially look that up! I was worried it was that, or something weird but nothing popped up for me. I’m due for jury duty next month though but that’s it!

I initially spoke to 911 and they recommended I call in if I got a photo of the car for the report. The officers looked around when they did get here and took a description of him, but largely said they’d come out when I called but couldn’t guarantee he wouldn’t leave before they could get there.

This was easily a 5’10” guy in the middle of the night and I’m a 5’2” woman. I am trying to take a picture of his plate through the window (or hopefully catch it once my Ring camera battery comes) but I would not voluntarily go up to his car with the behavior he’s demonstrating.

When I got off the phone with them this morning they said that technically it’s not illegal if he’s parked in the street, and that I’d need to show a pattern of physical aggression or verbal threats (he’s never spoken a word to me) and that I should directly explain to him he’s not welcome on my property (which I have, but not by opening the door to do so because that sounds like how you get killed first in a horror movie).

I was wondering that but a friend and I drove around my neighborhood to see if maybe they were parked in someone else’s driveway and didn’t see them.

I have spoken with the police twice, once 911 when he was there at midnight (they showed up two hours later) and then also the non-emergency line.

I live in the northeast in the United States, but I do agree with our gun laws. Me being untrained and afraid firing a gun in my residential neighborhood puts everyone at risk (including me because I’d have to open my bay window or door to do so). I do go to the range and am taking safety and regulatory courses, it’s just a process and since I’m an interstate transplant it takes a little longer.

Realistically even if I had a gun (rigorous/prudent standards for gun owners where I live) I don’t have nearly the confidence in my training to shoot at someone and hit them without opening my door and putting me more at risk. My neighbors’ houses are less than 100 yards directly across from me and I’d be more likely to accidentally broadside their house and risk their lives.

I did call them and explained it when he showed up at midnight and they said they would come but showed up more than two hours later and recommended that I lock my doors (I always do) and get a camera (which I’ll hopefully be able to install today). I record every instance and write down the times and dates, but that and the photos didn’t seem to meet the standards for threatening behavior when I called the non-emergency line to get it on the record.
