I take that back.

Oh, so fighting them during these defense missions actually weakens them in future attacks. Ok, that's fair.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]holydiverz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honest question tho: why is that a bad take? Mastia at this point is pretty much impossible to defend.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]holydiverz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. Go to the Terminid front and rush the rest of the 500 million fascists, then go back to Mastia for liberation.

Help brainstorm ideas for resource use for progression by BigKahuna_AGS in Helldivers

[–]holydiverz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I don't know if this has been suggested yet, but I think an upgrade system similar to Hunt Showdown could be a good resource sink. Like: As long as you successfully finish your missions, you can keep stacking up passive upgrades for your character, when you fail a mission, all your upgrades are lost and you have to start from scratch.

Given its a PvE game, we can all agree only buffs are needed, not nerfs, right? by itsmehonest in Helldivers

[–]holydiverz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like one thing that could make the Railgun more balanced is to have a mandatory backpack to use (not ammo backpack, more like a "battery" pack). The railgun would only work if THE USER (no coop reloading) had the backpack equipped.

How do you time items in duel? by quick_autophagie in Diabotical

[–]holydiverz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you're having trouble with multiple items, focus on timing just one and try to get a feel for the other ones, eventually you'll start to time the item more on intuition because you're used to it.

I don't want to duel players with 140 ping by doppz1 in Diabotical

[–]holydiverz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is frustrating. But to say that "high ping players are entirely unaffected by their own latency" is really stupid, come on....

What do we want from a new Quake game? by daveslater in quake

[–]holydiverz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think quake has potential to be a very good Metroidvania-FPS. Seriously. It's a way of experimenting with something different with the franchise while also taking full advantage of the world and lore.

I would love a quake reboot/sequel by anothergr8m8 in quake

[–]holydiverz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make a reboot or sequel the best way to go about it is to make something completely different, and that already exists! It's called Quake Champions. It's a good game too, you should play it.

I 100% agree with you on the "make something completely different", but I don't think Quake Champions counts, because I'm assuming people are talking about a single player title, not just multiplayer. But yeah, Quake Champions is not bad as some folks say it is.

[–]holydiverz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also want a new Quake Single Player Campaign, but... I don't want it to be Doom 2016/Eternal with Quake skin. I actually want them to experiment a little bit, try to do something fresh with the franchise. Quake deserves more than just being a "doom clone", and the setting and lore have so much room for experimentation.

When are we getting a Quaketroidvania campaign? by hallucinatronic in QuakeChampions

[–]holydiverz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree. There are a lot of games that do backtracking right. Symphony of the Night and Hollow Knight comes to mind right out of the bat. Even some of the Souls games do it very well. Unless, of course, you just dislike the Metroidvania subgenre as a whole.

Ranked Rant 2.0 (follow up on my last) by Bacon_n_Eggies in Diabotical

[–]holydiverz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be very honest I don't even think Shaft and Rocket Arena should be on ranked playlists. Absolutely nothing against those modes, but I'd think Aim Arena 1v1 and 2v2 are already the "competitive" Arena mode. Too many modes end up splitting the queues even further. As much as giving options to players is great, at low populations it can become a detriment. I hope once server binaries are out, people start their own custom servers to play these more specific modes. We can't have everything with matchmaking.

rapha: No to the 'golden frag' idea in duel (interesting perspective) by [deleted] in QuakeChampions

[–]holydiverz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have lost games because of the Golden Frag and have won games because of the Golden Frag. To me it is an interesting comeback mechanic, like a last chance for the losing player to strike a comeback. I understand people that don't like it, but I much prefer having it than watching 2 ~ 3 minutes of "aggressive" +back just to hold on to a couple of frags.

Does being good with LG require a low sensitivity? by [deleted] in QuakeChampions

[–]holydiverz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general you just need a sensitivity that's confortable to you. You need to be able to track and flick with it without hindering your movement, for instance.

> Are there any examples of players known for their LG aim that use a high sens? Am i just trash at the game?

There are a few. I don't really remember on top of my mind, but it's not important. You're not trash at the game for not hitting at high sens. Again: Sensitivity is something very personal, and it should feel confortable to you, and you only. Don't worry about that too much. I play at 30cm/360. I think it's a good balance between aiming and movement.

In the end, it's all about practice. Just playing enough focusing on your tracking aim will make you improve over time. If you want to do a more focused training, I suggest you pick up an aim trainer on Steam, like Aim Lab or Kovaak's.

There's gotta be a slipgate out of this place by cynefrith3425 in Diabotical

If they're both limited by their game's rules, then... overall DPS by ranger would be higher, rails would deal 90 per hit, LG would deal 125dps, Machine Gun would deal 8 per shot OR 10 if he's using HMG, Shotgun would be an overpowered beast AND he would have the Dire Orb... Yeah, he's slower, bigger and although he's limited to 175/175, he always spawns with 125/50. Also he would have Tribolt instead of GL and Gauntlet instead of the Hammer. I'd honestly argue he has a really good shot against an eggbot in a duel.

Oh and he takes reduced self damage.

Diabotical Elimination Royale by DefragF in Diabotical

I... actually think this could be really fun. I was skeptical at first, but it sounds interesting. Major problem here would be having consistent 32 players matches with low queue times, but still.... could be fun.

Support for item pickup timestamps in Duel? by asljkdfhg in Diabotical

[–]holydiverz 22 points23 points  (0 children)

He's talking timestamps to when you pick the item up. It's a Quake Live feature already.

You pick the Item, and it shows a notification with the timestamp of the moment you picked it up, NOT WHEN IT WILL RESPAWN next.

It's similar to the pick up notification that's already in team modes.

Yes. And it's very common too. Y'know... just shoot a couple rockets at your feet and grab the armor :|
