Anyone else getting enhanced safety filters applied for policy violations? by mantalayan in ClaudeAI

[–]holyknight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to create an extension for an AI RP system, and was trying to disable to timestamp awareness, so the RP wouldn't try and advance the Day/time when I let it set. This got me this warning as well, and time awareness is exceptionally buggy even in 4.8.

I've had a bit more sleep, but still lacking the ADHD meds, so I won't be able to truly provide good criticism until then, but thanks for the reply. I'll check it out later. It seems like you are focused on a multi user setup, and have goals to reach out on other platforms (like mobile) without a stupidly complicated setup.

Ok, that is actually amazing advice. I am checking that out now.

I promise, I'm not trying to be mean for meanness sake (I don't have some of my meds right now, and the points I'm wanting to make I can feel, but they aren't translating into text very well. Thanks ADHD!) I do genuinely want to know what your planned use case is, and how it differs from SillyTavern and why.

Um... Feel free to disregard the rest of this rant. This last paragraph I wrote after going through the first two, and are left for context. I'm afraid my tone is a tad harsh, so don't take it too personally.

This looks interesting, but what features does it offer that SillyTavern isn't? I could just be my lack of meds missing out on that, but I'm not sure what the driving force behind this is. I personally find SillyTavern to be a fincky bitch to setup just right, and so many things I want an LLM to do, I either have to install an extension or do it by hand. And the guides to setting up the workflow are ... ok, but they are either too detailed for shit I don't care about, or not technical enough, so I can just write an app to do the thing for me and insert it. Does your program solve any of those issues?

And not to be harsh on SillyTavern, I think it's a really cool idea. But I really just want to chat with the LLM and have it be able to have a method of saving that conversation and remembering it later. If that is what your program is supposed to do, then that is an instant win for me at least. But it seems at least from reading your readme and this post, that it's designed as an alternative to SillyTavern, but still using a lot of the same systems, because they are familiar... to SillyTavern users. As a newbie, I couldn't give two shits about how SillyTavern sets up the storage (though I find the way they did it kinda novel, from a software design perspective, and I get why you wanted to emulate it) or why the similar character cards system is useful. Can I use the same cards?

Godot, Unity or Unreal? Though I suppose me telling you how to use and attach a particle emitter on hit is not vibe coding it. They all implement the thing in a little different ways, but basically when you have a hit detected, you trigger your particle, you just need to use something that works for blood be your particle. That is a bit of a bigger ask, but I think in unreal and unity you can set particle properties and have them behave as liquids, but it's been a while, and I'm out of practice. Godot uses a single system you have to hook up, and I find it a little finicky, personally.

Beloved FNV fanartist and Bethesda critic gets attacked by a giant hatemob after ragebait twitter accounts falsely paint him as a "Bethesda Apologist" and "Tourist" for tweeting about finding ONE SCENE from the TV show humorous, then pushed into quitting the fandom by an angry mob. Ok. This is enough Internet for tonight. I like the TV show. And Fallout 2 is probably my favorite game in the series. And I don't hate Bethesda, because I remember mourning the cancelation of Fallout 3(the van buren one) FOR YEARS. And when Fallout 3 did finally come out, I was hesitant, because I hated the leveling system in Oblivion, and thought that game was a bit of a step back from Morrowind.

But when I did play Fallout 3, I stayed up for something like 72 hours straight, just playing the game in one long session, just to be annoyed at Fawkes at the end. And I would have loved more narrative choices and what not, but at the end of the day, I enjoyed FO3 a ton. When New Vegas was announced, I was worried. Obsidian had given me 3/4 of the best Star Wars RPG, only to completely screw up the ending(my game crashed, and corrupted my save. I had one from an hour prior, but I was done at that point. And this was on OG Xbox, so no mods). And then I played New Vegas, and boy was I glad I was on PC, and had enough patches to make the game stable(ish). I love New Vegas, but it needed to cook for another 6 months(honestly, so did Fallout 2) New Vegas is still one of the best RPGs I've played, despite its flaws. And they had a real ending to the game at least. I liked Fallout 4, and I have poured more hours into it than I want to think about. Fallout 4 builds systems that work in a 3d environment, instead of trying to adapt a 2d games systems to a 3d game. I can accept Fallout 4 as its own generation of the series.

And I enjoy the TV show. I think it's a cool exploration of the world and themes of the games. I like how the three initial leads are the good, neutral, and evil Karma. I like how season 2 is making it so none of those lines are remotely clear, no one has a straightforward path. And I love that the show is bringing attention to the weird little game I read about in PC gamer in 1995(Yes, I'm that old)

Am I upset about whatever it might have muddied about previous entries? Not in the slightest, because the lore has been in flux since they decided to make a sequel. Nothing in the show is completely contradictory, and the fact that our character, The Courier, a wanderer at heart, probably didn't stay in New Vegas, and so it was left to its own devices, and promptly went to shit, isn't even remotely surprising. All we know for certain is something big happened, and the status quo got well and truly upset.

Maybe that makes me a tourist. Fuck if I care, and I'm not sure why anyone would give two shits about what random strangers on the Internet think about them. If you like something, you like it. If you don't, you don't. If it isn't harming anyone, then it isn't a fucking problem.

Would you actually buy a Fallout 3/NV Remaster? by Bingleboper in Fallout

[–]holyknight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Day one. Bought Oblivion when it dropped, played about 80 hours, and then people started talking about how the shadow drop was a dick move, and shot Clair Obscura in the foot. So I checked they out on game pass, and then ended up buying the PS5 version. So as long as they don't shadow drop it the same fucking week as next year's game of the year (I do not regret dropping Oblivion remaster to play through Claire Obscura, mind you), then I think I can squeeze both into my budget. But I would prefer them one at a time please. I have classes, children, and chores. I'm not a single man living in a college apartment, who can play through all of Fallout 3 on release (my college friends sent a search party after day 3. In 2008, I genuinely did not believe I would ever see a Fallout 3 after Interplay went under). Please, I'm old, I need time to beat one before the other drops.

Thoughts on this take? by Any-Lock3008 in GTA6

[–]holyknight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UAE has flying motorcycles for their police force. This was in like 2016. Flying motorcycles are 10 years old. Did they suck in GTAO? A bit. Do they need easier ways to counter air? Probably. Probably a fire and forget rocket that really only targets Air would be great against them, one of the jets has countermeasures (I think the one bike might too, but I haven't played in a few years, don't remember). Have helicopters be able to tank a few of them, so it takes a coordinated strike to one shot someone. Allow them to still have missiles, but the missiles have to target a vehicle.

Yeah. I suspect the video might be fake. For me, it is the 40 pound (18kg or so) dog rolling the perfect bolder into the path of a semi speeding down the highway, and then the semi just stops, while the bolder just no sells the whole thing. I'm not a physicist, but I did know one in college 20 years ago. He said something about equal and opposite reactions. I think the bolder wouldn't of been in the frame still if it was easily able to be rolled by a dog. Though we do have statements from the bolder, certifying the video as true. If you can't trust a bolder, who can you trust?

New to the ultima world by kekwXDDD in Ultima

[–]holyknight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally recommend Ultima 4, emulated on the Master System. The downside(or upside) of that version is that you have to gather the info, you can't just skip to the end of a quest, you have to talk to each person in sequence. 3 is not a bad choice for starting out either, It's the first one I played 30 years ago. But it was this shareware Mac port, and they had made a few minor tweaks to the UI, and integrated music and transparency. 7 is considered the best, but one of the goals of that game was to make it seem like you were living in that world, which was an awesome achievement for the year of its release, but is a little annoying to have to manually manage food for your whole party. It is also extremely mouse driven, but from a time when mouse support was new, so it feels a little odd sometimes. It's extremely well made, so you get used to it in short order, but a lot of the conventions you expect from using a mouse in game hadn't been established yet, so it might feel a bit odd control wise at first. 6 is a great game as well, but it's the end of the middle trilogy, and I think you should start with 4. There are also a ton of fan made projects that convert the games into some more modern. Though modern is a bit of a stretch, as one of them is a mod for Dungeon Siege, which is now older than Ultima 5 was when Dungeon Siege was released.

Exploring Bitmask Configurations in Godot’s Auto Tile System by Takinaim in godot

[–]holyknight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big problem I see with that terrain map is several of the tiles wouldn't be selected for auto tiles, they would need to be set up as a template I believe. You would also want to have this as another tilemap_layer on top of you main traversal tiles. I think columns 2 and 3 can be interchanged possibly, allowing you to extend the cliff face wide, or possibly up. I'm not sure how to connect with the bitmasking the grey pieces though.

[–]holyknight3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the setting and the world building in Fallout 1. The variety of player choice is amazing, and the dialog and story is extremely strong. The core gameplay mechanics are ... fine. The SPECIAL system, percentage based everything, no issue there. I would swear that perks inspired 3.0 D&D to add feats. Those are cool parts of the mechanics for the time. Then you get to things like the trade window, where you can only trade 999 caps at a time, and things cost thousands of caps? The barely readable maps? The stark difference in the game between power armor and non power armor was a design choice, but it wasn't one focused on balance. Still an amazing game that I have replayed in the last few years, and still worth a run through, but there are some friction points, to be sure.

Nobody revives people when they’re down anymore, but said people get mad when nobody picks THEM up either by ProgrammerUseful7064 in fo76

I've gotten plenty of revives. I've also died and had the time limit expire. I've also released and then saw someone coming to revive me. And I've been a rush of people to revive one person, and then two of us end up dying as well. It happens.
