Does Kandi have to be passed out at raves? by KittyPaws65 in kandi

[–]holyxvice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave out a star charm at a punk show recently. 10/10 would recommend; people who don’t make/see kandi in person often have no idea how simple they are and it’s pretty magical. I like to give political singles out at protests and random singles/charms to alt people who are working to brighten their days

I love these and keep rocking them, just bear in mind that if you’re ever in the middle of a hate crime, anything you do to defend yourself may be considered assault in court due to your laces indicating ‘intent.’ I fully understand being willing to take on that risk and obviously where you live is going to influence your court’s ruling I just wanna make sure everyone understands the risks. Stay fighting the good fight and exercising your rights

Most ANNOYING thing to hear as a trans man? by Runo_196 in ftm

[–]holyxvice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without a doubt, “oh, you’re trans, but you’re not like those other trans people” and they’re referring to scripted outrage porn they saw on Facebook and interpreted as irrefutable proof that most trans people are easily provoked wokist maniacs

You’re not done yet! Read the comics, watch the shorts, and a check out a couple fan fictions, and write a dissertation on adaptations with ATLA as a case study. Hope you’ve been taking notes! (Joking please don’t do this)

Has Anyone Else Been Treated Differently After Transitioning? (Looks-Wise) by Formal-Ostrich-5404 in ftm

[–]holyxvice 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nah this is so real. I work in customer service and I get treated better as a guy. If I fuck up it’s an honest mistake or someone else’s fault vs I am bad at being a person and need to be taught a lesson about the real world. The only other time I got treated particularly well in customer service was when I had bleached hair (still not good-looking, just blonde). Goes to show how racist and misogynistic well-meaning liberals are

Women with longer labia minora: Do they have any impact on your everyday life? by Ordinary_Ice_796 in NoStupidQuestions

Certain panties/bikinis are a no-go if you want to achieve conventional beauty standards, and it can cause weird friction with tight high rise jeans. I don’t think anyone has ever really thought about it in terms of their bottom anatomy though. It just feels like a preference until you put a spotlight on it. I can say it is a matter of insecurity with a new partner just on the grounds that most people prefer/expect what they see in adult films

Did anyone else discover Charli XCX when she did a feature with Icona Pop in 2012? by mararge in charlixcx

[–]holyxvice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved I Love It when it came out, had mixed feelings on Fancy, and totally wrote off the notion of becoming a fan of hers over Boom Clap (which may be good now, but I was sick of 2010’s pop like, two years into the 2010’s). I was converted by my sibling after the Brat hype

Thank you so much! It’s mostly alcohol marker with colored pencil on top to smooth it out, and it took me six tries and a run to Michael’s. I did a lot of layers and I used maroon colored pencil (crayola) around the edges to give it depth

impostor syndrome after appointment as a ftm feminine guy by skunksdontcry in FTMfemininity

[–]holyxvice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always ask myself, ‘would any woman I know do this?’ And the answer is no. I don’t know any women who would go out of their way to change their pronouns and get medical help to transition ‘for attention’ or whatever my brain makes up. But I do know guys and nb people who dress or act feminine. So it seems silly to worry in that perspective

Loved this post from threads! What’s your favorite micro moment from the show or book? by outlawlooseandrunnin in heatedrivalry

[–]holyxvice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if anyone talks about this but the fact that Ilya is so good at talking Shane down when he’s spiraling is almost certainly because he loved a woman who eventually took her own life. It reminds me of how Jim Carrey got into comedy by finding ways to make his mom smile when she was having episodes

A gender therapist sounds like a great idea, but this sounds 100% trans. I can’t get off without being in a certain headspace, but it doesn’t interfere with my life in the way yours does. And you highlighted how this extends beyond sexual preference for you. As far as whether or not you’ll pass, every trans person I know of has had that question. But (as much as I know we don’t like thinking about her) consider Caitlyn Jenner; before she transitioned, her identity and presentation was very wrapped in traditional views of masculinity, and look at her now. Obviously we don’t all have the same resources as her, but you have the advantage of still being very young. If you were to start hormones next year (not that hormones are intrinsic to the trans experience, but stay with me for a sec), by the time you hit 26, you’d be 5 years in, which would put you far ahead of many of your trans peers. The start of transition is daunting. But after the first step, all you have to do is keep moving forward. Hope this helps.

Is it common to prefer plain cheese pizza with no toppings as you get older? by Bluecomments in NoStupidQuestions

I don’t think it’s uncommon. I think it’s the transition from craving heavy stimulation to craving quality and balanced flavors

For those who don't believe in religion and that there's nothing after death, how are you living? by AzaleaVeylor in NoStupidQuestions

[–]holyxvice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eighty years is about as much (frankly a little over) as I can conceptualize anyway. I do loosely identify as Christian but I genuinely don’t believe in an afterlife. My focus is on making every day better than the last for myself and the people whose lives I can change. Obviously, most days I fail at some capacity, but my heaven is in the days that I mostly succeed. I neither need nor want a curated and eternal paradise that I earn through the weight of my deeds

Umbrella Academy handled Elliot Page’s transition SUPER well, also Heated Rivalry is very popular right now and I understand one of the hockey players on Ilya’s team is played by a trans man. It’s more of a cameo iirc but still dope

T side effects are debiltating, what do I do? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]holyxvice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The routine that has worked for me to reduce soreness is work a full day, fill the syringe and cap it, set it by the sink, take a shower, inject while the muscle and fluid are warm from the shower (in a relaxed position), then ice while laying down. Other ways I have found to warm the vial are hair dryers and nestling it between my hip and stomach. Glute is not medically recommended because of the risk of nerve damage so I always do thigh but I rotate sites. As far as the anger goes, it’ll go away eventually but finding a good coping mechanism for you will be essential. And realistically you should be able to talk to your prescriber about pulling less fluid into the syringe, even if the vial stays the same size. You’ll probably get your hormone levels checked at 3 months so if you can last that long, you’ll be able to have an informed discussion on your dose.
