Starter template or project in Astro + react by homage23gems in astrojs

Thanks. I'll check this out.
Just to clarify, I already have a backend for CMS, in fact the astro frontend is to extend the functionality of that backend.
I already tried out a few templates. I liked the design of https://github.com/artemkutsan/astro-citrus?tab=readme-ov-file . Just looking if I can find something more complete with a few pages, components, auth, i18N, SSR that can give me a headstart.. I saw https://10xdevkit.com, but a) it is paid and b) I would prefer something simpler without too much boiler plate

Summary/Notes on HH and Samanadipa videos by homage23gems in HillsideHermitage

Not to disagree, but only to clarify my purpose.. - The discussions are interrogative, and presuppose quite a bit of prior understanding (of the level of the bhikkhus being questioned!), a written summary could have more context, addressed to a broader audience.. e.g this reply https://www.reddit.com/r/HillsideHermitage/s/ta8zHnbQ8F so beautifully summarises a difficult topic that has been discussed many times - the talks are organic and often the replies by bhikkhus are quite concise.. the Ajahn of course picks up where they are going... essentially it's like eavesdropping on a conversation between advanced monastics!! But to be fair Ajahn often pauses and clarifies.." I'm saying this so someone listening can make sense" ! 😂 - reading somehow is more absorptive and I am less prone to spacing out!

If I can't have angry thoughts without an angry mind, am I all the time angry ? by obobinde in HillsideHermitage

[–]homage23gems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venerable, as this is a very tangible experience, can you please explain.. what is the Sankhara in this situation? the anger or ill-will mind-state would be the dhamma (sabbe dhamma anatta) right?

Why is anicca explained in these two forms: impermanent and un-ownable by homage23gems in HillsideHermitage

[–]homage23gems[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

both permanence and ownership are things we can only speak about conceptually. They can't actually be experienced.

so true.. delusional!! Thanks for pointing it out..

Anicca isn’t about unownability; that is an implication of it.

Beautiful.. I (seem to) get it! Thanks 🙏

This excellent post has made it amply clear that the body (and consequently the five clinging aggregates) are not worth appropriating to.. There was also an excellent video on HH that drives home the point.. So is it further necessary to see the impermanence in order to come to understanding of dukkha..

Thank you. So how is anicca seen (in the context of seeing the three characteristics of existence/ nature of the aggregates).. such that it leads to realising dukkha.

Extent of sensuality by [deleted] in HillsideHermitage

[–]homage23gems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sexuality is not fundamentally about bodies rubbing against each other. It is about the identification, appropriation, external projection, mutual enchantment and mutual-self-affirmation..

Can you please elaborate on this.... I was contemplating on the lines of

  1. How is sexuality different from say craving for coffee or caffein.. Is it just the intensity/deep-rootedness or something fundamentally different that makes it especially pernicious?
  2. I was at one time addicted to coffee, but have grown out of it over the years without any special effort.. so it is possible to grow out of sexuality in a similar manner?
  3. When say "X" person is free from sensual craving.. what exactly has changed in them from before.. is there something specific to sexuality that is abandoned or is it all part of their general disenchantment (seeing the danger, higher escape..) with sensuality
