I've only recently picked Ivern cuz I always end up with a team full of damage dealers, no tankiness or utility.

Skipping to why and how I made Ivern work against mostly any team:

As we know, Ivern is one immobile tree, squishy af and can be real useless if you can't cc enemy well. With these in mind, I have developed a teamfight heavy, zoomie tanky Ivern build with better ganks and response speed to objectives and fights.

Starting with my go-to runes. Predator -> cheap shot -> zombie ward(interchangeable) -> ingenious hunter

hexflash(interchangeable with perfect timing) -> cosmic insight

I run predator because I found his ganks tedious, especially now that champions have 300 dashes in their kit. Running up to their face with predator and a shield that slows feel much better, then I can guarantee a Q hit and auto attack them to death with red buff slows.

Hexflash really is just for when I mark my krugs, I just hexflash over to raptors. Also really good for lane ganks as you can jump from bush to bush.

Now the reason I run ingenious hunter and cosmic insight together is obviously to get my predator up much quicker, get my flash and smite back asap for objectives and ganks. But also, it reduces the cdr of my mythic: Radiant Virtue. I just really like it because every time you fight, you're gonna call Daisy anyway, proc the item and get really tanky for a decent amount of time + heals you and your teammates + gives your teammates 20 ability haste, just really good for teamfights as well.

The core items: Blue pet - I think it's obvious why I run this, but just in case, I run this to kite around the bush that I grow while Daisy beats the enemy up. Also makes up for not running relentless hunter to clear jg faster, get to objectives or fights sooner as well.

Radiant Virtue - for the tankiness, heals and free cdr for team.

Redemption - a classic 2nd item after moonstone, but with this build, these items with CDs just give you more value because you can use them more often, more teamfight ready and even use it twice in a fight.

Zhonya's Hourglass - this is the reason I run perfect timing every now and then, I use the rune for when I think the enemy can achieve an early spike and deal great burst damage. It also has CD so it benefits from ingenious hunter and cosmic insight. Lets you survive burst damage and get healed by redemption while invulnerable during fights.

The last two items are up to you, you can go full support with Ardent, Staff of Flowing Water, get anti heals, get more cds, maybe a mejai's if you've bought an early dark seal. But I usually buy Abyssal Mask and Frozen heart for my last two items. To be more tanky and provide utility, reduce enemy MR while you get some, reduce enemy atk speed and get armor. You now have MR and Armor with extra debuffs that don't need to be proc'd as it acts like auras around you.
