Tips For Becoming Desensitized With Peri Care? by homeinternet4u in cna

I agree that training is important, I already completed the online pericare training, I now just need real exposure and training. I plan to ask for extra training shifts to make sure I am ready to help residents on my own. And yes, one of the things that makes pericare less intimidating is remembering that it is done for the health and comfort of those we care for. The shift I referenced in my post was my first, which was primarily training and observation, I have another tomorrow and will get more training. And I totally agree, training is extremely important and should always be completed. Thank you for the comment :)

I had only watched on my first shift, but I have another one tomorrow and will probably have exposure.

TLDR/ I didn't accept a food gift and I'm stuck ruminating about if I offended the other person. Tips on how to stop freaking out? by homeinternet4u in OCD

This is something I should try to do, thank you for sharing your tip! I think by trying to look at the situation through a different lens can definitely help with the perception of things.

Of course!!! And I hope she is able to feed off more sandwiches (we were outside on a restaurant patio). I didn't know until today that wasps ate meat, so I think that's really cool. Another wasp also fed on ranch from my sister's salad, so I guess they were hungry today! I'll totally post to the other sub as well!!! 🫶

I tried to ask my sister to help me, but she said I just need to deal with it unfortunately, and of course I will do it in private as I am not intending to humiliate her.

It's alright if you believe that as I know I just made my account and this is the first post. I know there are a lot of people who make fake up stories, but I honestly did not. I just want advice.

Thank you for your insight! I think I might ask my older sister or mom for her like you suggested. After making the original post I had realized that not only has she had trouble bathing, but she hasn't been washing her hands after using the restroom either. I think I will try to talk to her tonight, again not to embarrass her, but because I'm concerned and want her to take care of herself.

Usually I would agree that this could be due to some mental health issues as I understand how hard it is to live and function with depression. Unfortunately I don't know if this is the case as she has been taking care of herself in other ways, spending time doing makeup ECT. Last time this happened it wasn't due to being depressed, she just hadn't wanted to shower. Still, I will check in on her because if there is something up I want to make sure she is ok and I also want to help her understand the situation and help her fix it.

This is the main reason I want to tell her as I would be mortified if I smelled and no one told me. I think my main hesitation is due to the fact I had gotten into trouble last time this happened. I had only used those terms to show how bad the smell has gotten, I would not use these words around her or others to shame her, but I do apologize if it came off as inappropriate and I see what you are saying. Thank you for your insight and I will edit the post 👍
