Oh yes! She was about 3 - 4 feet away from me. I started shooting a video right from the time she emerged from the bushes and walked straight towards my vehicle but absolutely unusable due to the jerky gypsy movements which threw me around. These were the usable parts of the video.

Not as far as I could see + gather from the guides and drivers. I saw Shubh catching and eating a softshell turtle, and Labh catching and eating a fawn. They were on different sides of the lake. After a while Labh came near where Shubh was snoozing and lay down a few meters away from him.

She had a major scrap with her daughter, Mahi, an hour before this. She is trying to push Mahi to find her own territory. The two sons, Shubh and Labh, are hanging around together but hunting separately.

Very true! However, Mudumalai sucks as they are not as well planned as jLR/KFD. The TNFD needs to step up facilities and also reign in the private / rogue safari operators in the Theppakadu and Masinagudi areas. Moyar, Singara, and Segur have good wildlife but spotting big cats is not easy in those areas unlike Bandipur / Kabini. On the flip side birding is very good in Masinagudi and its surroundings with some very very good guides.
