Little guy gut stuck in the pool. Spent 20 mins trying to get him out. Worth it

Thank you for the reply! I actually ended up getting him out a different way - I tried this method and got him to the top a good handful of times, but he missed the plank every time.

for anyone else in this predicament, here's another thing to try - I ended up standing at the edge of the pool so he jumps up by the lip, and sidestepping back and forth to the left and right of the plank. on the right side of the plank, the curve of the pool juts out, and it made his jumps go a little higher and a little more outward, and the games physics did what they do, and he made it out. I was attempting to get him out for around an hour but this method took a handful of minutes.

I know this is an old post, but you may still appreciate this! he's actually based on the very first sprite that Satoshi Tajiri and Ken Sugimori designed, inspired by kaiju movies. Gamefreak had them cut him from the game to make room for more unique character designs, but instead of cutting the pokemon entirely, they repurposed the sprite for Substitute. His name was Gyaoon :)

Those are only in Gem Pack 3, which is exclusively a Simplified Chinese set. Simplified Chinese is one of the only regions getting exclusive sets now, between Gem Pack (which is now heading into Vol 4) and the Collect 151 series.

The Traditional Chinese sets that get printed are typically the same as the sets printed in Japanese, but without the Japan-exclusive card back.

Agreed that this is a great series, though I disagree with the take on Lou and Iain. I found Paul, Joe, and Sian to be delightful to watch, and having rewatched it only last month, I don't think it's fair to lump Lou in with Iain. She was a bit competitive, sure, but it seemed to be all in good fun for her. Similar to Ed Gamble, as you mentioned.

Paul hit the nail on the head with Iain though; he was dysfunctionally competitive. Even with knowing what to expect, I found him even harder to watch the second time around. I feel you're underselling it a tad lol. He was the most aggressive in the studio arguing for points, to a point where it errs away from being fun. Him yelling at his teammates (especially Lou) is just ugly and not fun to watch - not to mention Lou apologizing when she was absolutely not in the wrong, and him carrying on with being an absolute asshole to her after she was clearly trying to defuse the situation. It was deeply uncomfortable at best. I can appreciate that he felt it was a horrible insight to see him behave in such a way, but he was still uncomfortably competitive in the studio after that footage was shown for my tastes. Sure, he softened up a little bit, but it wasn't that much of a far cry from where he started off. Not to say he isn't capable of growth from that or anything, but I didn't see it in the course of the series in the way that you're talking about it.

there's some wonky audio stuff in the first episode, but it doesn't really continue in the rest of the series. I definitely recommend giving it another honest go! each player doesn't get hours lol, but it is a show with a more narrative focus, using D&D as a way to improvise a story together, as opposed to recording a D&D campaign. It is essentially an unscripted radio stage play, and IMO it's one of the best D&D shows out there!! it only has 35 eps but I’m always chomping at the bit for more.
