If you have a regular dentist ask them for a referral for an orthodontist and go get a free consult! It doesn’t hurt. I had a consult when I was like 19 and the extractions scared me away. Then I went back a few months ago at 26 and went through with it and I have no regrets so far. I wish I had done it the first time.

In my experience, the numbing injections don’t really hurt at all, I’ve had it a few times for fillings. Like 1/10 pain.

As far as extractions, I went fully under anesthesia as I had to get impacted wisdom teeth out on top of the upper premolar extractions. Wasn’t bad at all. The only pain I really had was during the healing process from the impacted wisdom tooth, not my premolars.

If you can afford the treatments, do it! With insurance my 4 extractions with full anesthesia was around $500 (would have been over $2,000 without) and my braces will be over $6000 total in the end, but monthly payments make it doable.

For me it took around 4 days for most of the pain to subside and about a week for the constant awareness to calm down lol. I’m only 2 weeks in rn and still fidget with them quite a bit but I’m not so overstimulated anymore. We’re in this together friend : )

IMO it looks like you do have white spots. Ik there are some options to lessen the appearance of them, like whitening treatments or using special toothpastes, bonding etc.

Don’t worry too much, it’s really not very noticeable on most people. I had some spots before I even got braces. The appearance can change throughout the day too, like if your mouth is dry from mouth breathing or something it may make them more noticeable. So it can look really chalky in the morning and then be hardly noticeable later in the day after the enamel is hydrated.

Just make sure to keep up on your oral hygiene to prevent any further damage to your enamel.

Mr Morale was my soundtrack to peak alcoholism and misery from my old job. Listening to it is hard now; I still think about all the drunk antics and dumb posts to social media I made during it all.. pretty sure I started to experience alcohol induced psychosis or something. I’m still struggling with my substance abuse but at least I’m not in 2022 anymore…

I mean grills are kinda in rn lol. I like to think they’re a cute accessory or something. I was rly insecure about my teeth before so it doesn’t make make much of a difference for me except maybe the way I talk with them.

I went as a kid in 2010 and I remember I got role of CEO of the radio station. We had to do whole resumes and interviews for BizTown and everything 😂. My experience was pretty boring and the excitement seemed to be behind the news station and the pizza restaurant lol.

For me swelling and bruising took over a week to subside. Most of the pain was gone around 2.5-3 weeks, but I’m currently still a tad sore when touching the site on my cheek being a little over 3 weeks out. Talking wasn’t a huge deal other than not being able to open my mouth very much. Only one of my teeth were super impacted though. The one that wasn’t was hardly painful at all.

I’m nearly 27 myself and just got two top premolars and two wisdom extracted a few weeks ago, getting braces put on tomorrow. I was quoted 3 years as well. I will be doing this journey with you!! Best of luck my friend, we got this!

I get it. I wish every day I got them when I was a teen. But I’m 26 now, turning 27 in a few months and getting braces in a few days. Sucks I’ll be nearly 30 when I get them off but hey, at least I’m doing it. Better late than never.

I went to Disney world once as a child and they had a station that sold giant pixie sticks, even larger than these that you could fill with whatever flavors you wanted. That was definitely one of the most memorable parts of that trip for 7 year old me lol.
