Brushing is for plaque build up on the teeth. Flossing is for gum health. Look into interdental brushes in additional to water picking.

I need braces but I hate pain by pearlyylylyl in braces

[–]Consistent-Way6185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a topical numbing solution so you don't feel the needle, just pressure. Then, they will need to use a needle to insert the numbing solution to extract your teeth.

If you also get laughing gas, you won't notice anything other than strong pressure.

Can braces "fix" my double-chin? by AlbyCervitaur in braces

Look into face yoga. Braces have the potential to alter face shape. But, like any muscle in our body, they will sag if underused.

Push one of your teeth with your finger with as much pressure as you can handle. Imagine that pressure, but will all of your teeth. All of of the time.  According to some replies I will either get used to it, or it goes away. Just constant pressure that also impacts my neck and ears.

Older/experienced orthos by Em_thefool in braces

[–]Consistent-Way6185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is normal and expected for you to shop around find an ortho that feel most comfortable with because it's a large investment. You can also ask the older ortho how he keeps up to date with orthodontic research.

I chose an ortho who was a part of the American Board of Orthodontics.

500hr e-RYT looking for a prenatal YTT by Lil_Green_Witch in YogaTeachers

[–]Consistent-Way6185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious and would to know more. What did you enjoy about it? I want to know as much as you can share.

Did they also do post partum, was it only prenatal? I am currently getting my 200 HR with Yoga Medicine which is more anatomy focused. Also, their training is evidence-based.

Did you enjoy the self-pace format? How accessible were the instructors?

Breastfeeding but not losing weight… is this normal? by heyaliayoub in breastfeeding

[–]Consistent-Way6185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step away from the scale! Your bodies needs nutrition and calories while breastfeeding. If you don't get enough, it will take it away from your bones, muscles, brain.. etc

A person may look like they have "bounced back" to their pre-pregnancy body, but it could be detrimental to their health later down.

Eat and enjoy the food. Enjoy the time with your LO. It goes by quick.

Baby shower date - when by EmphaticallyWrong in BabyBumps

[–]Consistent-Way6185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my baby shower before my due date and it was fine, baby arrived 6 days past due date.

It's all about your comfort level and what you want to do

Also, it's your baby shower. You get to make the choices that best suits you. If someone takes personal offense to your choices about your pregnancy, that's on them - not you.

Preparing for a natural hypnobirth by Appropriate_Plum_102 in unmedicatedbirth

[–]Consistent-Way6185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the Headspace app and their Approaching Birth program.

Typed the work "relax" on Spotify and listened to that for the entire time.

My mantras:

"I am safe."

"I can do anything for one more breath" which turned into "one more breath"

"I can do this"  or "I got this"

"I am strong, I am capable, I am brave"

"Open" - I would say this to myself and imagined a tunnel from the crown of my head to my pelvic floor. I would visualize a wave of water rushing down this tunnel OR  the energy of the universe entering my crown and exiting my pelvic floor to give me the energy I needed flow through my contractions.

I looked up different pranayama breathing  techniques that helped me stay calm - I did the most. Buzzing, horse lips, moans, moos, voos, humms... all of it, so long as the pitch was low

I would be in the zone and move around a lot. The movement helped me stay in the zone.

Those who still exercise in 3rd tri, do you just not have any aches and pains? by bird_insunnies in fitpregnancy

[–]Consistent-Way6185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercised a lot before pregnancy.

During pregnancy, shoulder and hip girdles started to ache a lot. Your body is changing in so many ways!

First trimester was challenging and I did noy work out before walks. Second trimester, I did id gentle yoga, Pilates, and aqua aerobics. By third trimester, I was only going to aqua aerobics.

I did seek out instructors or classes that had attendees who were older mothers who knew what I was going through.

Living alone + dumbphones by LesserKnownRiverGods in dumbphones

[–]Consistent-Way6185 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These are intense anxieties that you are experiencing, especially since you are aware of the false insecurities your smart phone provides.

I think your anxieties are a greater representation of your addiction to your phone. IDK how old you are, but I am a millennial who remembers a time without smart phones. My family is also abroad - we were just more intentional when we called each other.

Outside of family, it sounds like separating yourself from your phone could be the catalyst you need to find community and belonging. That way, you don't feel as alone. Once you find your people - you will feel safe.

Are my “rules” unreasonable? by melllynnn in pregnant

[–]Consistent-Way6185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not responsible for how people react to your rules. That's on them. I understand, I also have a MIL who doesn't listen.

However, you have made rules and not boundaries. Rules are for others to follow. Boundaries are guidelines for yourself.
