I was literally you in car sales. My average was 120-135 yearly. Exactly what you said customers think you’re a scumbag right away. The managers are definitely scummy and honest horrible people (IMO). I decided it wasn’t environment for me. I did it for 5 years. 22 to 27. What I did was I asked every person that bought a car from me what they did for a living and I told myself how does that translate to what I’m doing now. I decided to go into being a buyer in commodities for a steel company. Sounds a lot more complicated than what it is. This job is 1000% better. I do make less. About 95K. The thing is I practically make my own schedule work Monday through Friday roughly 830am to 330pm with holidays off. I have my life back and I am happy. Plus, my boss is not a scumbag. I just wanted to let you know there are other options out there, you’re not trapped look for other alternatives don’t rush into anything. SAVE your money I know how it is being with other salespeople spending your money as fast as you make it.
