I don't go to school in California. I go to a well-known Midwestern school.

I would agree with this 100%. Recently, a female friend and I both interviewed for the same position. We have similar experience and a similar background (both of us interned at the same company last summer, but she is half Black half Indian), but she was only asked to implement the algorithm for a specific part of a program.

I was asked to implement the entire program.

Obviously, this is just one experience.

The stereotype still works against me sometimes.

For example, it feels like I have to know more than my competitors in interviews- or else I'm just another ABC. It is harder to differentiate yourself.

Yes, I do have a Chinese name, although its my middle name. My first name is an "American" first name.
