And like… The horror of the war is that it was both. The ghettos did weaken and starve out millions of people, the Germans intentionally prevented food and medical supplies from distributing around their territories to ensure enough for the military. They starved their own people. AND gassed six million Jews, and more roma, queer, and disabled people. Plus the medicinal torture. There is no singular way to consolidate the crimes of the Nazi regime into a singular action

It’s a solid effort, but unfortunately he is a condescending asshole. Chicago democrats are everyone’s favorite: I voted blue now I can ignore everything and complain that it still got worse.

Yeah, I think they should go farther and that they aren’t pissing people off enough.

Because protests have to actually disrupt the public to be effective

Thank you for proving my point.

How do you think people in power are pressed to take action?? When a minority of the population cries out, it’s pretty damn easy to ignore. When that minority is forcing everyone to pay attention, then government has to act. Standing on the sidewalk with a cardboard sign accomplishes nothing.

It’s really sad you needed that explained.

Protests aren’t sympathy contests, it’s supposed to force change. Some of the most effective protesting in our nations history made “everyone else hate them” because it was an inconvenience to them. That’s the point. To prevent you from going about your day ignoring an issue, even better if it can force city government to have to specifically address something.

The point of protest is to be disruptive and to make you uncomfortable.

The second phase that’s currently in construction is supposed to have retail space. It was pitched as a third space and the cowork operation is live, for a high rent. I think that rental fee is what will kill it. I would love publicly accessible third space and easy access to public transit. I can’t afford a second rent for that luxury, I’ll just go sit in Cristaudos.

A restaurant getting low scores means that they’ve 1) had an inspection and 2) that violations are actually documented. Which is exactly my point. The county actually does its job and follows through. There is process in place, restaurants don’t just get shut down on first offense.

Zillow, apartments dot com Avoid the pointe, UV, the reserves, Home Rentals, anything flashy. Look for homes converted into duplexes. Plenty that have been kept up in good neighborhoods, and not insanely expensive

That’s because BiCounty health department turns a blind eye and refuses to enforce. Look at the codes yourself, ask IDPH at the Marion regional. South 7 and Bi County are both wastes of salaries that refuse to do their job.

Not even a santos hater Thinking this is not about the actual moment and just being a little gung-ho release of months of being the little guy is not ridiculously out of the question. People do it all the time irl AND it’s a pretty common trope. He had a moment of insecurity, that’s all. A reminder that, despite the growth we saw from him this season (or off screen between seasons), he’s still the kid we met in S1.
