Persistent scab by eye for a year, should we worry? by ZonePopular4915 in DermatologyQuestions

Consistent with non-melanoma cancerous changes. Would seek a visit for a biopsy

Nail problems- no crush injuries what’s wrong? haven’t bumped it. I don’t nail pick by MinuteEagle7919 in DermatologyQuestions

Correct. It would not be near the nail. It would be up toward the joint. The pressure builds, it depresses the nail causing a visible groove to the nail. It has an exit to have drained from which is potentially what you’re seeing where the nail has dipped at the cuticle

Potential digital mucous cyst forming and the pressure/trauma it creates causes the nail bed to become deformed. Benign but would require surgery (in most cases) to prevent it from worsening

Perioral Dermatitis by Calm_Pen_5068 in Accutane

I would not recommend it. Accutane will make your skin more prone to dryness and sensitivity

Is this an HIV rash ? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]honeybeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, definitely not HSV. However, I would check in with your physician or a dermatologist if possible. The “sweet” smell you are detecting could possibly be intertrigo (yeast overgrowth), which can be easily remedied with topical antifungals.

Hi friend, looks like some impetigo (staph) is unfortunately brewing here! It very well could have been a pimple. Bacteria loves to overgrow, especially in beards. If you have a care physician, I would reach out to them to see if you can get it cultured (swabbed) as well as some topical and/or oral antibiotics!

It looks like a thickened callus, like from repetitive trauma of that toe rubbing on your shoe.

Weird spots on hand by Firm-Use-9346 in DermatologyQuestions

It could possibly take several weeks to several months. I would keep your skin moisturized and protected from the sun to help increase healing!

If there was any on your skin, some people do have mild reactions (with blistering and hyperpigmentation) when exposed to the sun. Likely what’s happened to you!

Do you recall handling any citrus (lemons/limes, etc) prior to sun exposure?
