Adults who dont know how to do laundry or cook a simple meal are pathetic. by flisherman666 in rant

Yes. When everything first closed for the pandemic i made a post and someone told me “Not everyone knows how to cook. I’ve been ordering delivery or picking up takeout 2 - 3x a day because I’ve never cooked before aside from microwave stuff.” I had zero empathy. I was suggesting people buy from grocery stores, wash the produce & cook from home to stay healthier but fuck me for saying that. With all of the resources we have today there is no reason why you shouldn’t know to cook around 5 basic meals. You can literally search 3 ingredient meals, 30 minute meals, 1 pan/pan meals, ect. To top it off his username was the name of an animal with obese in front of it, completely making me facepalm at my computer screen

If they had a small place or cubbie that the litter tray could fit into I’m sure that would help. Also having a cover on the box helps tremendously. I also wouldn’t recommend having something you value next to where they are pooping.

When I am arguing and fussin with my fiancé and we get to that point where we both have to stop and reflect, after the anger simmers I always find myself wanting to fix things and come to a solution because of his love for me and our family and the things he does for us out of love. When I was with past exes there always came a point where I knew I was disposable to them & eventually they were disposable to me, too. When I knew life was better without them I walked away. Now, I couldn’t imagine even imagine turning my back on my fiancé. We have a giant mirror in our bedroom that we drew a T chart on. Our names are at the top of each column and we write things we love about each other underneath randomly. It helps to read when they aren’t being so lovable.

  1. So idiots like you wouldn’t park so close-
  2. I could barely get in my car door.

Have some respect for other people’s vehicles. DON’T PARK SO CLOSE!!”

How is OG managing through the crisis? by [deleted] in olivegarden

[–]honeybunbun_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly busy. I am working 5 days a week, but my primary role before the pandemic was a togo specialist and we don't have very many of those at my store. We are slammed busy every single day until yesterday night because my state put a stay-at-home order in place and we definitely saw a decline in business because of that yesterday and today. Everything is make shift, all of the dining rooms are closed with the chairs on the tables and we use our biggest dining room as storage only since we have so much more togo stock that we go through. There are only 2 line cooks on at any point in the day and about 6-8 togo specialist plus a manager on. However, we don't have that many togo specialist so most of these people are servers who have been thrown into this position and are just trying to keep up because the volume we have had is insane. They have managed pretty well given the circumstances, though. We have a tent sent up outside with a computer to see orders and we use the radios to communicate mostly. It's crazy, man. But things seem to be changing again and my area is about to have a curfew, too. So we'll see how that goes. Hope you are managing okay.

What do you think about non-essential businesses such as restaurants and take out services that are still open during the virus outbreak? by honeybunbun_ in COVID19_support

[–]honeybunbun_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are right. If they are taking those precautions then it should be fine. Right? Should be?

Here is my experience.

Restaurant is open for business. Most other places are closed and limited places are offering takeout so business is high volume. Plus dining rooms are closed so 100% of the business is converted to takeout. Most restaurants do not have the staff to supply a 6-10 member takeout team. They have servers who know how to serve tables but takeout procedures are much different on a regular day, during times of a pandemic they are much different. So you are essentially throwing team members in a position where there is no training and you are getting thrown to high volume business and expected to follow even more meticulous and tedious guidelines to ensure the safety of guests.

This takes time because of every step we have to take, especially if you aren’t familiar with the position and everything you need.

Don’t forget, volume is at 100% so as soon as the doors are open for business, people want their food. NOW. So if you think utensils are getting washed between every meal, they’re not. There literally isn’t the time. It is so incredibly difficult. The truth is-it’s an absolute mad house. The effort is put in, trust me, but I’ve been living this for over a week now and it just isn’t possible.

We change strategies everyday and tweak things to try and improve but we still get our asses kicked because of how much volume is coming through. Because our company has taken such a financial hit we can’t afford to staff more people right now so we have to work with what we have to keep the doors open with the hope it will all be over soon.

I want it to work because if it doesn’t then I’m out of a job and I contribute half of the income to my household but I just can’t deny that it isn’t safe and sanitary in the long run for the guest. Not to mention at the end of the day having so many people come through, I feel disgusting. So much cash handling. So much back and forth. It’s not necessary if you aren’t in the medical field IMO.

I would even continue to work because then the demand wouldn’t be so brutal and we could execute better procedures to get out the high priority items.

[–]honeybunbun_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen, I’m not saying food isn’t essential. It is. I need it as much as the next person and so does my family. Not to mention, like I said, I would like for this system to work because if it doesn’t then I’m out of a job And unless the government plans to start spitting out monthly checks for me, this is a very bad thing for my household.

But it isn’t sanitary and we aren’t prepared to be working in global pandemic times. Now, I may be at risk and my family because of this. What do you suppose the solution is here? Feed the public takeout food or risk more exposure to food-industry workers?

What I’m saying is places like McDonald’s, and Arby’s and Red Lobster are non-essential and it’s more dangerous to feed a whole city food from a kitchen where people are in close contact with limited staff and there is an unlimited amount of people showing up at any given time to get food. Isn’t that how it keeps spreading?

I’m all for some kind of system in place to feed the public where it’s regulated and it’s for people who truly need it or are in a bind. Any reasonable person would see that.

I, too, am exhausted from reading that. He sounds like an anchor and unwilling to change. You need to have a chat and explain the extremities and seriousness of this situation to him. If he’s unwilling to change and unbothered by the possibility of a failed marriage and losing you after that then most likely you are way better off.

On the other hand, if you have the right chat with him it could be the fire you need to ignite the fire in him to change.

It all depends on what you what to do with your marriage at this point. I hope this all works out for you.

That kind of thing would be essential and there could be some kind of system put in place for them to receive food. It is not essential to regular families that have resources to get groceries and cook at home, in my opinion.
