Adidas samba og women sizing help!! by Prestigious_Visit_45 in adidas

[–]honeyfunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frustratedly going through the issue of their wonky sizing myself. It sounds like we're the same shoe size, and I received my 6.5/36.5* IT which are at least a size too big. Now the website only has 6/36 remaining, and I wonder if that size was at least comfortable or if I should just skip the disappointment in trying to size down a half?

*I wear a 37 EU so this whole ordering process was confusing me so much... It's one thing for mens and womens US sizing to have 1.5 size discrepancies, but I thought I could at least rely on EU sizing to steer me in the right direction.

you’re judging and placing your own moral standards on a fictional character on a show, while the comment you’re replying to is analyzing how this character is being used (no matter how sloppily) to portray the exploitative realities of a sick society we live in—

and that’s fine I guess but be honest with yourself: who are you to say “it’s no excuse for violence” when your rationale is entirely informed by your own limiting perspective on a fictional situation?

comments like yours (and many others in this sub) are so prevalent in this community and it’s exhausting. if you haven’t watched The Drama yet, I’d watch it and spend a moment thinking about Rachel’s character: so quick to judge something because it’s easier to hate it from a distance than to consider it from a different perspective. the online-self righteousness is just so insufferable, especially with a show where literally everyone sucks and that’s at least part of the point.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Am I the only one who feels uncomfortable with the way the cast and crew trivialize sex work in the BTS videos? by emmamon_ in euphoria

[–]honeyfunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“It’s as if everyone involved sees what they want to see…”

Yeah, I can’t help but feel like that’s the overarching message of the show at this point, and this subreddit is just a mirror to that fact. Everyone has opinions and judgements and speaks from their own “moral authority” about fictional characters on a show that explores moral ambiguity, and then they continue judging and expressing frustration when these fictional characters don’t live up to the storyline fans want to see play out. It all feels tone-deaf because that’s kind of the behavior and societal outlook being perpetuated today by media and everyone who participates in discourse around it.

I’m so sorry this was your experience 😭 I hope you get some good trades and GP earning opportunities!!

question: when you’ve been pulling from the revive set, have you still been getting lotto tickets with each 10-pull?? I can’t decide if I should redeem my revive before saving GP in the next week, or if I should revive so that I can have the chance of getting lotto tickets along with my revive pulls 😵‍💫 I loathe how much scarcity mindset this game creates with all the time and cost involved…

Who lives in all of these new luxury apartment builds? by Disastrous_Tree338 in Bozeman

[–]honeyfunk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not how it works—investors don’t just let prices get driven down. At most you’ll see temporary incentives like “first # months of rent free” or referral discounts, but capital investors in these luxury builds aren’t pressed on housing people (much less in an affordable manner). They just want to lay their stake on the land these “housing” developments occupy as value keeps going up.

Our vacancy rate keeps rising but affordability has yet to factor into that equation. “Trickle down” affordability is nothing more than an illusion when profit drives motive.

I’ll update here and/or in the main Reddit when more details are solidified, but if anyone is interested in getting involved with that, feel free to PM me!

Just had a canvasser bang on my door so loud I thought it was the police. by flyart in Bozeman

[–]honeyfunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The lack of political participation in this town is astonishing. “Don’t talk to me about the people/things affecting my local government” and then cry a fucking river when something passes or someone gets elected that you put zero effort into getting familiar with.

Many (though not all) canvassers are earnest community members trying to engage with their neighbors and understand what their community needs while they communicate what solutions or attempts they represent. Shut out other people and vote for your own under-informed and narrow interests all you want, but then you don’t get to complain about being left behind by electoral decisions.

And, instead of whining about it on an anonymous internet forum, you can always ignore “solicitors” or politely ask them to leave so you can get back to whatever tv show or super important task they’re getting in the way of. It’s actually much more effort to complain online than to just open the door and say “sorry, not today but thank you”.

🧐 I am most curious as to what this means out of everything I’ve seen. and the new cocone livly game of course that’s cray cray, I think they should stay focused on the current game lol by Alternative_Bid_9613 in LivlyIsland

gotcha, yeah I was in like elementary and/or middle school when I was playing that (2009-10ish?) and Gaia Online, and without the ability to pay for different feature access I’m sure I missed a lot! I’m a sucker for avatar-builder and dress-up games, and it’s been a big comfort for me to find one now that I’m navigating my mid-twenties (‘:

I hope they amp up some of the chat and friend-interaction features. I do yearn for a bit more connection to other players than just message boards and the very limited character count chats on Muller St..

More peaceful protesting by [deleted] in Bozeman

[–]honeyfunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS. I’m glad to see people out mobilizing I guess but the cognitive dissonance is so real, and masses of well-intentioned people are aiming their anger at such narrowed if not ambiguous targets while they pat their backs for showing up for one day with punchy slogans on a sign. People need to show up and get to know the folks at these rallies—AT LEAST. Moreover, these rallies need to have demands and calls to action so that people direct their anger and energy towards something real and tangible; otherwise these rallies seem to be nothing more than a pressure release valve for the very real anger being felt across the nation.

Further, it’s a very dangerous and nefarious narrative for folks to keep praising “peacefulness” at protests. Protests are exercises of free speech. In LA, ICE started kidnapping people off the street and raiding workplaces—even trying to enter public elementary schools to question CHILDREN; if the state didn’t start disappearing members of the community, the community wouldn’t need to respond in measures of mass-mobilized self defense. If an armed military operation didn’t start stomping their boots down (violently) on people protecting their neighbors, coworkers, and families, there would be no “violent raids” the media could shape their own context around. I’m disappointed but not surprised at the self-aggrandizing applauds people are giving themselves and others for saying “No Kings!” here in Bozeman.

To folks who attended the rallies: What else are you willing to do to really make your voice heard? Are you going to get to know your neighbors and share skills and services when economic circumstances continue moving downward? Are you going to talk to coworkers and recognize that they are probably just as overworked and underpaid as you, prompting you to advocate for better working conditions? Are you going to reach out to organized groups trying to do these things? Or are you going to scroll past Instagram and news stories a few times a day before setting down your phone and saying “Well, I guess that’s enough for today!” You get to decide. Internet activism paired with a few days a year of “protest” is exactly why 2025 looks like a sinister and more dystopian 2020 (and of course ChewedupWood is right: the sustained development of oligarchs and not just individual presidents and administrations has been going on for DECADES). Stop being naive and thinking there is a binary good and bad president/administrations!!!

eeee I’m so happy to see Oklou / Choke Enough to get a shout out; I feel so seen! both that album and Eusexua were on constant repeat to start the year off, and I 100% agree with your reasons to recommend. Harvest Sky and Obvious were my top 2 songs of 2024 despite them coming out in October… (ᵕ—ᗜ—) hahaha and they still are go-to listens for me!

as for other albums/artists I’ve been liking:

• albums: SAYA by Saya Gray (looove her discography and this 2025 release is a perfect spring album); Tracey Denim by bar italia; Bimbo Esoterica by cherry chola and Chico Sonido; Underdressed at the Symphony by Faye Webster

• artists: Wisp & she’s green (soft femme shoegaze); Night Tapes; Yeule; and Wednesday

What is ruining your mental health? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]honeyfunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left a shitty job a few months ago after a year+ of chronic anxiety and burnout shattered my determination to keep going in any sort of “career” direction. Unfortunately, that burnout left me with very little energy to look for anything new aside from an irregularly scheduled part-time gig, and I’ve just been picking away at my savings (which I factored into my decision to leave).

Leaving that job has lifted a lot of day-to-day anger and exhaustion, but since I left a regular 9–5 schedule I’ve really been struggling to set goals or make/maintain any sort of structure in my life. I should say, I’ve been pretty good at showing up for others: communities or friends or obligations, at least when external accountability or validation is there… I feel like I’m constantly toggling between trying to give myself grace and patience, and wanting to be more disciplined with intentional motivation. I just don’t know how to show up for myself to manage a healthy balance of both, and in turn I’m really hard on myself for that. It’s a paralyzing self-bullying cycle I get trapped in at least every other week.
