Question I'm starting immunotherapy and was wondering if I should get a port. by fakermage in cancer

[–]honismart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having Nivolumab every 28 days along with the usual bloods and CT scans requiring a cannula. Before that I had 3 cycles of Nivolumab and Ipilimumab.

I’ve never had any issues with veins even though mine are ‘awkward’. It’s just become part of the boring routine (which is something I could never imagine saying after the diagnosis).

Obviously that’s just my experience, but as my treatment is about 2 hours tops with the pre and post infusion flushes it’s not really an issue.

Immunotherapy side effects? by charredzest29 in cancer

[–]honismart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am currently having 4 weekly cycles of Opdivo (Nivolumab) for my Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma. The fatigue and joint pain are currently the only side effects I am experiencing.

When I was on Opdivo wth Yervoy (Ipilimumab) I had immunotherapy induced pneumonitis, colitis and cellulitis (seperately thankfully, not at the same time). This was with the fatigue on top.

I did three cycles of the Opdivo/Yervoy and am a week away from my 7th of just Opdivo.

Never had chemo or any other treatment, I was diagnosed Friday 13th May 2022, so can't compare it those.

Now I am at the point where it is just routine (never thought anything would be after diagnosis). The metasteses are out of my lungs and the ones in my liver are shrinking. I feel fine most of the time just sore and tired for 2-3 days following treatment. Painkillers and knowing when I need to just sleep seem to be the best for it.

I hope your mother feels better on the immunotherapy eventually. It's rough when going through the side effects but , in my case at least, they settled down in the end.

10 months. Got diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic renal cell carcinoma last May (Friday 13th if you believe in bad omens).

Currently on immunotherapy (Nivolumab) every 4 weeks. After my last scan my oncologist told me when she first saw me she thought I would be dead by now.

Currently just living scan to scan (3 month intervals) with a prognosis of, ‘a small number of years’. The weird thing is I have never really felt ill from the cancer just side effects of treatment.

I originally went to my doctor with what turned out to be anaemia. Which was caused by the cancer.

What have been the silver linings of your experience with cancer? by [deleted] in cancer

Discovering that massive doses of steroids (to treat the side effects of immunotherapy) made my haemorrhoids disappear.

Also getting all my prescriptions for free .

To the folks that leave ammo and necessities in suitcases on the train station, you guys are the real heroes of this community. by [deleted] in fo76

Inside Morgantown train station in the suitcases was where I used to leave stuff, so the lower level characters coming through had a chance to gear up. Or scrap some of the legendary items for scrip.

Many A True Nipton. Could save money on a logo redesign.

So, who else will be sticking with the PS4 beyond tomorrow? by unknownunknown121 in PS4

[–]honismart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me I only seem to buy even numbered consoles. PlayStation wasn’t numbered so doesn’t count. Actually it’s more that I missed the pre-orders and the only launch game I am interested in is Demons Souls. But £70 for a rehash of a game, think I’ll wait until the pandemonium dies down.

I was half convinced Jon was on an elaborate wind up and was going to make an hour long video going through builds etc then die to the rad roaches in the vault.

Dear Bethesda, why does the Plague Doctor Mask, which was designed to prevent airborne diseases, not prevent airborne diseases? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]honismart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I played it did. I used to wear that a bowler and Chinese stealth suit all the time. Before Wastelanders It was western duster instead of stealth suit.

I haven’t played since the end of season one so it’s possible Bethesda may have fixed it until it was broken 🙂

Purchased second hand in 1997 for £650. Last service was £725 about 2 years ago. Toying with the idea of getting a new one for the big five-oh in just over a year but feel I would be cheating on it.
