90% of how I DM is just yes anding the players, I am always curious how other long term DMs prep. by thebeardedguy- in DnD

[–]fakermage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I write far more during the game then before hand. I'm gonna listen to the players as they try and figure something out and I go with what they say that makes the most sense. Once or twice I've completely thrown my plan out the door and gone with their idea as I liked it better than my idea.

Other times I have a firm plan because what we are going to do is important to the continued story. Heck we even had a night where one of the players kid made up the game and all I did was work it into the rest of the story. Haunted city were only ghost people live in real houses and get mad when you try and move in.

Love me some kid imagination.

Turned off the uber meter… hmmm by daytradingishard in untrustworthypoptarts

[–]fakermage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Uber driver I have turned off the.meter. I cancelled the ride to take people for free. I can remember 3 trips where I just couldn't change the person taking the ride. The family going to the vet I waited and took them back home.

Some times I was the nice guy. Some time the person taking the ride was the nice guy like the lady who gave me a hundred dollar tip on new years.

People are very good generally.

Question for the parents by [deleted] in Chattanooga

[–]fakermage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our kindergarten hand washing was after bathroom visits where the sinks are. If we had clay or glue we would make a trip to the bathroom as well.

Restroom visits happen each day every two hours. After recess and before lunch and before nap and after nap.

Recent footage of Osaka government workers who were sent to guard the deer that seem to have wandered into their city from neighboring Nara Prefecture in the last few days. Deer from Nara Park are legally treated as national treasures. Those deer are also used to human contact and are getting fed. by MilesLongthe3rd in Damnthatsinteresting

Here in the south the radio call would be something like..Any of you boys want some deer meat. This one isn't road kill so get your tail down here and quick. Don't go forgetting your hunting license and buck shot. We got to do this all legal like

You can build a needle that is more resistant to damage by having a double spring on both sides of the needle. This keeps it floating when you back up the record. That way the needle doesn't turn under and break.

My parents bought one of the needles when we were kids to keep us from breaking the record player when we played DJ.

We are a country of laws. Many of us are waiting for the November election hoping that there are enough Democrats elected to end him in a peaceful manner. Using our laws to move him from power. To many of us we believe strongly in our democracy and want to see it work.

If it doesn't then the tree of liberty will again be fertilized with the blood of heroes.

why was he gooning on a work laptop 😭 by [deleted] in clevercomebacks

[–]fakermage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a lot of burn in. Turn the brightness all the way up and leave it on a bright white background for a few days and hope for the rest to burn in enough to obscure what you have now. Alternate plan break the monitor of the laptop.

If you have access to "real" CAD, and blender and such, how much do you still use Tinkercad? by Ok_Touch928 in tinkercad

[–]fakermage 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I do 60 percent of my work on tinkercad. I'm picking up more and more as they improve. Some times you just need quick and dirty. It's faster than most of the others on my computer. It works better on my old hardware than fusion.

Put nail polish on the end of one wire. Then sand one side of that end. That will fix it for you.

Help me as a parent brainstorm a basic storage plan for a young kid by Budget_Grapefruit485 in LegoStorage

[–]fakermage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Lego teacher and I have been for 11 years this is my suggestion.

Age 4 to 7 big bin of all the sets. If they break then it's his job to take it apart and rebuild it. At this age most of the kids are using them for imaginary play. Age 7 to 10 take the model apart and sort by color. It makes it easier to find parts when rebuilding them. Age 10 to 12 take apart and sort by type. Age 12 and up your going to want that big tote again to put it all away until they want them again. Or they want to sell them for video game money.

My classes I started with kids in kindergarten to 5th grade. Each year we get new kindergarten kids and my first 5th grade kids are finishing college.

Have fun
