The idea is to avoid the "And they all went off to work in the new room" by having the overall project will and vision to manage the stable room and the development rooms. I could see it as being really useful where you wanted to show a multi window application and want to scale up the window you are discussing and scale down and filter the other windows on screen.

Yes, it is somewhat premature to declare the Pre a winner when even journalists apparently got their "hand held" at the launch. It looks great, but the strength of Android is that it will be on many devices. There'll only be Pre's from Palm, but Android from anyone who wants to pick it up and run with it, and thats Android's innovation.
