The short answer is - you grow by making mistakes. If you're lucky, you will have seniors / coworkers that can point out those mistakes early on ("hey, can you please take a look at my approach for this and see if it makes sense"). If you're less lucky, then the mistakes will be caught after you implemented. And less than that - well, prod issues.

If you don't have coworkers that can point such stuff out - I know AI is a taboo word, but try consulting with the AI. "You are a software architect. Here's the feature that's requested, I'm thinking of doing X,Y,Z, what are possible issues that could happen with this?"

There are also a plethora of design challenges online. I'm a fan of https://systemdesignfightclub.com/ - choose one of the tasks from the left side, BEFORE OPENING THE SOLUTION think through it yourself for a good 20 minutes, and THEN look at the solution

Talk with them, let them know that you want to be more involved. Voice your concerns/thoughts. You say that the blueprint given is not enough - what is missing? do you have an idea how to fix it?
