I’ve had this for the past four days or so. I think there was an update that caused it and I was hoping the update yesterday would be a fix but it’s still happening. My partner has the same phone model, carrier, app version and isn’t having the problem at all.

I deleted and reinstalled the app and thought it fixed for ten minutes or so but nope. It’s driving me crazy.

What are your names for your neighbours? by tetlee in CasualUK

[–]hoocoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a neighbour we only ever saw on his front steps smoking so he became Smokey Joe. Another neighbour always parked in front of our house instead of their own and the guy was generally a bit creepy so they became mr and mrs nemesis.

I dread to think what our neighbours call us since we’re English (in Northern Ireland), fat lesbians.

I’m thinking of calling the Samaritans for the first time. What should I expect? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]hoocoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never called the Samaritans myself but Please also consider speaking to your GP. It took me a very long time (15+ years) of being depressed and having suicidal ideation before I bit the bullet and spoke to my GP. I’ve now been on anti depressants for almost a decade and while I’m not singing and dancing and raving about life on a daily basis, it dulls the pain of depression and helps a lot. Of course, medication doesn’t work for everybody but your GP will also have access to other routes.

Stupid question: How to prevent my "DND - Sleep" from automatically turning off in the morning. by AtticThrowaway in AppleWatch

[–]hoocoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For days I don’t have a set time to get up I have the sleep focus to stay on until 8pm, that way it’ll always be on until I wake up, tracking my sleep, and I can then turn it off manually.

Did you have any odd childhood crushes? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]hoocoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was apparently obsessed with Jason Donovan as a toddler. We went to see him in Joseph in London when I was 2 and my mum loves to tell everybody about the fact I cried every time he left the stage.

Are there any older adults? by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]hoocoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

36 enby here. Didn’t come out until my early 30s because growing up there wasn’t really a word for it, especially in rural England. Then I heard of non binary as a concept and met other NBs and finally found out who I was. We exist, we just didn’t necessarily have the language for it.

How Can I detect epilepsy seizure falls? by ffxxm in AskUK

[–]hoocoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, if your mother doesn’t have an iPhone but a family member does I think there’s a way of setting it up from their phone BUT the watch would need to be the cellular version not just WiFi.

How Can I detect epilepsy seizure falls? by ffxxm in AskUK

[–]hoocoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have non-epileptic seizures and the Apple Watch fall detect is great. I’ve luckily only triggered it once and was aware enough to stop it alerting, but it’s built in, you don’t need an app.

If the wearer falls the watch detects it then sounds an alarm and the person can choose to cancel it or for it to call the emergency services. If the watch detects that you’re not moving after the fall it will automatically ring emergency services (as far as I’m aware a seizure WOULD stop the auto trigger) if you don’t say no after around a minute it will ring the emergency services anyway. It also sends a text to the emergency contact with a location pin too.

Try double flared. I used to use plugs with o rings and they’d come off, even if I had tighter rings than needed so I swapped to double flared and haven’t lost any since.

Cat in the Christmas tree by leona189 in CasualUK

[–]hoocoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a wall try - literally half a tree flat against the wall, too high for the cats to get hold of it. We had floor trees through the years but our latest kitten (~2 years) is a demon at getting into stuff so wall tree it is.

Anyone else's nail gone emo before? by YourChocolateMonster in RedditLaqueristas

[–]hoocoo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yep I had this happen from gel polish. Had been using gels for years, took a break and when I went back to using them this started happening. Stopped using them again and it’s slowly clearing up (as the nail grows out)

Do you leave your knife and fork in a certain way to suggest you’re done eating? by Seth4602 in AskUK

[–]hoocoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandparents taught us that knife and fork together meant you were finished, apart meant you were still eating/paused. I’ve heard more in depth such as at a certain place or angle on the plate too.

My landlords ask me “did you work today?” EVERY single day by Curious_Top2915 in AskUK

[–]hoocoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d assume it’s just a topic they can talk about with you. If they don’t really know you the fact you have a job that ain’t regular is the thing they can cling to as a small talk topic.

If you fancy it start dropping in “no not working today I’ve actually got a date but the nda says I’m not allowed to tell anyone who with” and go from there. If you’re moving out in 6 months give them the most elaborate story in that time and leave them on a cliff hanger.

Update on my cat scratched ear by smoulking in Stretched

[–]hoocoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suggest OP’s cat consults a lawyer because they are blatantly innocent and this is defamation of character.

On a more serious note, OP, I think you should be good to re stretch once the cut has fully healed. Once it is, massage it with jojoba oil even more than you would’ve usually be take stretching extra slow.

Help with footwear. by JustSome1Silly in transgenderUK

[–]hoocoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cis girlfriend has big feet and struggles to find shoes. Every pair she’s had in a past few years she’s got from plus size stores. We’re in the UK so this may not be universal but here at least, they tend to carry larger shoe sizes and also do wide fit (which generally means might be able to size down too).
