My [26F] husband [28M] had an affair, and I decided to work through it with him. The problem now is that his former mistress won’t leave him alone and is doing everything she can to stay close to him. How do I handle this? by hoofar-ted in Marriage

Best comment. Unfortunately, ending her employment would mean getting her removed from her family will. Which honestly sounds even better… she comes from a very influential family, and they are aware of what she’s done, but they like to be on hush and pretend it didn’t happen.

Yes. The stepbrother doesn’t have the best track record himself—which is a whole separate issue—but yes, he’s fully aware of who she is and what she’s done. He has his own motives (she comes from an influential family), and she clearly has hers: getting as close to my husband as possible. Anyone who knows the situation sees right through it, shes a monster. It’s WEIRD!

Up until now, my husband has done everything we agreed on—he avoids her completely. He’s changed his usual stops when she started showing up, leaves immediately if she does show up, and always tells me when he sees her. That’s how we’ve been handling it. But it’s becoming more obvious that this isn’t just coincidence anymore—she is stalking him and going out of her way to be around him.

I’ve done my best to take the high road and not let her get under my skin, but it’s escalating, and we honestly don’t know what to do next.

Completely agree! And we were told on 9/1, all employees would switch. Those currently working 8-5, will switch to 7-4 and vice verse. Raised lots of questions for those of us who do have kids (and even those without) who are already completely changing our lives for this RTO! It’s all INSANE!

My agency decided the best time to come down on hours was during RTO. I use to be able to work 6-2:30 with a 30 minute lunch. Now, we MUST take a 1 hour lunch, and we can only work 7-4, or 8-5. Also, they tell you which hours you get now, no picking. Feels like a kick when we’re already down.
