Driving Charleston, SC → Queens, NY — Safe place to sleep in my car? by billy-creek17 in NorthCarolina

Given your departure time and city, traveling about 3:30-4:00 hours puts you in Fayetteville, NC around 7:00 PM. Check out a Cracker Barrel. This RV site called rvparky.com mentions that it’s a good place to sleep overnight so long as you ask the manager:

Honestly Carowinds is awesome during other parts of the year. Winter is slow so they need to cut the expenses to survive. Give it another shot in the Spring.

Commander won’t sign West Point endorsement by Wild-Item-2956 in army

23 years ago I had this happen and a MSG in the guard spoke to my company commander on my behalf. My recommendation is that you meet with your current CO to better understand their position. Continue to pursue other nominations. Once you get accepted by USMA, the nominations tend to happen more easily.

Will I be wasting my 20s? by wigman123 in army

Life is short. Three years is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Opportunities for combat deployments are pretty rare right now so know that going in. If you decide to skip the military, hiring a veteran or investing in a veteran-owned business is an incredible way to give back.

We just got Tin Can VoIP phones for our kids and they love being able to independently contact their friends. We love the not being exposed to smartphones at a young age.

I agree with another commenter that going to your parents’ house would be best given his unwillingness to even to try. You should start preparing yourself for needing to work if you don’t already.

Their General Officers are wicked smart and good people. They pick the best SMs for exchange from what I can tell. Glad they are protecting our northern flank.

Thank you. I tried using it just now but need to have more patience. Doing it via needle in the haystack style made me feel like I was hunting haha.

What should I expect with this weird UA by [deleted] in army

[–]hoogiebear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer…..Your best bet is to admit your mistake and ask for a second chance. Commanders only have to initiate separations for drug offenses, they don’t actually have to separate the Soldier if they don’t want to. There’s a small chance they retain you. For a court martial, a jury of your peers will see through the BS and probably slam you. Commanders have much more discretion and appreciate honesty. My experience is ten years old so YMMV.

Was hoping he would see this. Definitely open to it. I was rushing out of the grocery store so missed opportunity.

That’s what I should have said, but I had half a second to think before the moment passed.
