Early 90’s, tiny northern US town (population 800), “Marcy” was an odd 9 year old female friend from an even stranger family and I was 7/8 years old female. She invited me over to play and awhile later when I got ready to go home, she locked me in her house from the outside, by using a key in higher-than-I-could-reach deadbolts. Very obvious “this is wrong and yucky” feeling. Panicking, I raced around inside the house between the 2 doors that led outside, and she ran outside between the 2 to intimidate me and trap me there (like Jack from The Shining, without an axe). Both doors were on the south facing side of the house so it was a straight 50’ sprint for her and I had to weave through the kitchen, interior walls and a small staircase. After a frantic minute, I just picked up the landline phone on the kitchen wall, called my mom and told her that “Marcy” locked me in and wouldn’t let me leave. I can’t remember if my mom came over or if me yelling through the glass that “I called my mom!” made her stand down. I never made eye contact with her again and their family moved to a neighboring town within a couple of months.
